Wreck Dive Astron Bavaro Punta Cana
Diving highlights of Wreck Dive Astron, in Bavaro Punta Cana. Our team-mates Mark and Luis wanted to join with us those highlights during their dive in June 2014. Astron Wreck was a Russian owned freighter built in France by Chantiers de l'Atlantique during 1957. She was 127 meters (139 yards) long, weighed 27,990 tons, and was powered by motor.
She was delivering 60 tons of corn to Cuba on 7 April 1978, when she ran aground in Punta Cana during a storm. She broke apart into two pieces with the bow above the water and the stern underwater, with 7,330 barrels of bunker fuel being recorded to have been lost by the incident.

Scuba - Bavaro, Dominican Republic - White Sea Urchin
Passing around a large white sea urchin, with plenty of yellowtail snapper and sergeant major fish in the area.
Shot with a GoPro HD @ 720p 30fps, using my own removable corrective lens that I attach to the front of the housing just for underwater use. It gives full field of view in all photo/video modes without vignetting, while significantly improving the sharpness. Mild colour correction in post-production.

Scuba Dive Isla Catalina | Dominican Republic | Travel
Dominican Republic offers a wide variety of adventure sports and during our November 2018 visit to Punta Cana we went scuba diving near Isla Catalina. Our excursion was a scuba, snorkel, beach day complete with souvenir shopping and hot BBQ lunch.
There was excellent visibility and a wide range of colorful tropical fish at both of the dive sites; the wall and the aquarium. Massive lion fish could be seen in almost every large, dark crevasse and did not seem bothered by the human invasion. Healthy corals of bright greens and purples cover the side of the wall and various reef fish swam around.
