San Sebastian, Spain, is on the country's north coast, very near the French border. It's in Spain's Basque country--three provinces that have their own separate heritage and language (there are 3 other Basque provinces over the border in France). San Sebastian has been an international beach resort since the mid-1800s, and attracts a sophisticated crowd. The city's beaches, especially Playa de la Concha, are famously beautiful. It's also the culinary capital of the Basque country, with some of the best food in Spain. This area is known for its tapas, or pintxos (pinchos) as they're called here. San Sebastian also hosts a well-respected international film festival every year, usually in September.

1) Playa de Ondarreta
2) Playa de La Concha
3) Zurriola Hondartza

SAN SEBASTIÁN, SPAIN: Our FAVORITE European City (Pinxtos, Beaches and Drinks!) | Ep. 39
San Sebastian or BUST! We leave Toulouse and drive through the beautiful Pyranees mountains and arrive in our most favorite city. The Hotel Lasala Plaza has just opened, and it is a treat! Do not skip eating at their fantastic restaurant Taberna La Jarana, it was so delicious! We ordered way too much and don’t regret a single bite!
After a rest and a bit we head out for PINTXOS! Yay! When you visit, you bop around to as many pintxos bars as you’d like, ordering as many pintxos as you want before moving along to the next bar. It is actually a compliment to throw your napkin on the floor, really!
Over the next couple of days, we visit the Peine Del Viento along the shore and hike up the Urgull hill to get the best view of San Sebastian.
