A Walk Around Golden Acre Park, Bramhope, Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK - 13th June, 2012 (720 HD)
Footage of a short walk around part of Golden Acre Park, which is situated six miles North West of Leeds City Centre, just outside the village of Bramhope. Featured in this video is a walk around the lake, and a walk through the woodlands, culminating in a circuit of the park. This footage does not include all areas of the park due to a combination of them being closed, and the inclement weather, which cut the walk short. During this film I pass several Geocache and Munzee locations, and do so without giving them away. Wildlife featured includes ducks, swans and other birds, flora includes Rhodedendrons and typical British woodland. Other features include ponds and the remnants of the old railway line.

Attraction in Leeds .Golden Acre Park is a public park between Adel and Bramhope. It opened as a privately run amusement park in 1932 with a miniature railway, swimming pool and boating lake, but closed during the Second World War and was taken over by the Council in 1945. The lake was formed by damming Adel Beck and was larger than at present.

Golden Acre Park near Leeds
This is another of my 'in pictures' galleries. It's very short, probably my shortest filmette, so far, but you get the sense of it being a nice place to visit. It is a cross between Otley Park and Newmiller Dam, near Wakefield.

Golden Acre Park
OK for children and family viewing OK for children and family viewing Golden Acre is a public park outside Leeds city centre. Leaving the car park there is an underpass to save you crossing a busy road and in the park you can walk by the Bakehouse Border, near the Cafe then follow the path that leads to the Lake where you can feed ducks and swans and then walk around the lake if you wish. A pleasant walk in the rest of the park goes through the Dell Garden, past the Cherry Orchard and across a field that leads to a small wood where you are certain to see some Squirrels. Returning to the cafe there are Display Gardens, although but not much colour left in late October. I would like to visit it again in mid-summer another year.

Golden Acre Park - Part Two
This is my second video of the visit to Golden Acre Park in late October. After the walk around the lake and grounds there was still a lot of colour to see in the park’s herbaceous borders and demonstration beds. It will be worth a visit next year when all the summer flowers and bedding plants are at their best. Suitable for Children and Family viewing

Leeds is a city in the northern English county of Yorkshire. On the south bank of the River Aire, the Royal Armouries houses the national collection of arms and artillery. Across the river, the redeveloped industrial area around Call Lane is famed for bars and live music venues under converted railway arches. Leeds Kirkgate Market features hundreds of indoor and outdoor stalls.
Leeds is a local government district of West Yorkshire, England, governed by Leeds City Council, with the status of a city and metropolitan borough. The metropolitan district includes the administrative centre Leeds and the ten towns of Farsley, Garforth, Guiseley, Horsforth, Morley, Otley, Pudsey, Rothwell, Wetherby and Yeadon.
The current city boundaries were set on 1 April 1974 by the provisions of the Local Government Act 1972, as part a reform of local government in England. The city is a merger of eleven former local government districts; the unitary City and County Borough of Leeds combined with the municipal boroughs of Morley and Pudsey, the urban districts of Aireborough, Garforth, Horsforth, Otley and Rothwell, and parts of the rural districts of Tadcaster, Wharfedale and Wetherby from the West Riding of Yorkshire.
For its first 12 years the city had a two-tier system of local government; Leeds City Council shared power with the West Yorkshire County Council. Since the Local Government Act 1985 Leeds City Council has effectively been a unitary authority, serving as the sole executive, deliberative and legislative body responsible for local policy, setting council tax, and allocating budget in the city, and is a member of the Leeds City Region Partnership. Thc City of Leeds is divided into 31 civil parishes and a single unparished area.
