His Majesty King Vajiravudh's (Rama VI) Summer Palace—Hua Hin, Thailand—on RodMcNeil.TV
More Videos:
(Text Courtesy of HuaHin247.com)
Maruekatayawan (Mrigadayavan) Palace is one of the oldest and most attractive royal palaces in Thailand. The Maruekatayawan Palace was constructed by His Majesty King Vajiravudh (Rama VI) in 1923 as a place where he could fully relax in great comfort amid a naturally serene atmosphere.
It was designed by an Italian architect with lots of verandas, latticework and covered boardwalks using golden teak from the demolished Hat Chao Samran Palace. The architectural design of the raised-floor wooden palace, with its three sections facing the sea, was drafted by the Monarch himself. Following the completion of the interior decoration in 1924, the King gave it his first visit and stay. His last visit to this seaside palace was made only a few months before his demise in 1925.
This palace is noted for three two story wooden pavilions facing the sea, and is referred to as the palace of love and hope. Series of halls are linked together throughout the palace. Residential halls of the royal consort members are located on the right wing. The central group of halls which is the royal residence consists of royal sitting and relaxing rooms, accommodations for close royal servants called Phisan Sakhon Hall, and the reading room.
In addition, Samoson Sewakamat Hall, a two-storey open pavilion, is used as a meeting place, and sometimes as a theater. Two important dramas were shown on this stage in 1941: Phra Ruang and Wiwah Phra Samut. Chao Phraya Ramrakhop ordered a statue of King Vajiravudh, as a royal dedication, to be enshrined in the hall of Marukhathaiyawan Palace. An annual rite is conducted on November 25, the anniversary of King Vajiravudh's death.
This is one of the many attractive places in Thailand that is a must to visit. This teakwood treasure (known for convenience as The Wooden Palace) stands on Hua Hin beachfront and, now restored. It is proudly billed as The Longest Golden Teak Palace in the World. This palace is only a few minutes by car from Hua Hin.

HOW TO SPEND YOUR LAST DAY IN HUA HIN - Exploring Hua Hin Thailand
Hua Hin in Thailand is a seaside resort on the Gulf of Thailand, in the southern Thai province of Prachuap Khiri Khan. Once a quiet fishing village, it grew into a fashionable escape for residents of Bangkok after the 1920s, when the Thai royal family built summer palaces here. Hua Hin Beach, popular for kitesurfing and other water sports, is the main stretch of sand, lined with high-end hotels and seafood shacks.Hua Hin is linked by highway to Petchburi and the rest of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. Central Bangkok and Suvarmabhumi airport are just under three hours drive, or longer, depending on traffic conditions.

Khaolak Golden Place
Khaolak Golden Place, We are proud to announce the opening of the best locations on peaceful Nangthong beach, the resort is ideally situated for an enjoyable holiday with the whole family. Although the resort is just a few minutes walk from the beach, great shopping opportunities and Nagthong famous nightlife, an excellent relaxing location for going to Similan Marine National Park Islands only 60 klm west from the main land. Khaolak is the closest point Thailand has to offer to the Similan Islands.
Wat Khao Takiab, Prachuap Khiri Khan (Hua Hin), Thailand
Beautiful standing Buddha on the beach, accessible up a short walk. Well worth the visit if you are in Hua Hin. I did have a wander around at the top of the staircase, however there is little to see, except some half finished / abandoned buildings.
Google Map:
Wat Khao Takiap, Prachuap Khiri Khan (Hua Hin), Thailand
A popular tourist temple, set atop a small mountain with sweeping views of the sea and beachfront of Hua Hin. The place is home to a huge number of monkeys, so don't have anything edible on you when attending, and be careful how long you open your vehicle door for! Further along the plateu is an old Chinese style shrine. Please note much of this has seen better days and the roadway has collapsed down the mountainside.
Please note the google map image is incorrect ad shows a different temple (Golden Buddha).

SCAMMED 60,000 Baht Thailand CAR CRASH - Something Saved Me?????????
#THAILAND #LIVINGINTHAILAND #THAILANDJIMANDREWS ????????
If you drive in Thailand you really need a car dashcam. Thailand is the most dangerous place in the world to drive with shocking standards. As you can see the overloaded work truck reversed into the front of my car. The driver either failed to check or could not see as his truck was overloaded!
Initially the other driver stand that I had driven into them - unbelievable!
His word against mine - he was lying. Luckily my dasham had recored the whole incident.
Without this evidence I would be facing a 60,000 Baht repair bill because of this idiot!
My cleaner Om also attended the scene and helped with the translations.
And the golden rule ....Dont Move the car unless its life threatening until the insurance agents arrive.
Also get some pictures or video at the scene just in case the other party depart quickly!
And finally try and stay calm....Anyway the car is getting repaired and hopefully it will be fine.
I will give you an update once I get it back!
I have run this channel for nearly 3 years now filming all over Thailand!

Hello my name is Stephen Harden or Stephen with a PH and I am a person who quit my job and cashed in my life savings and is now traveling through Asia. I recently came across this little beach town called Cha-am beach. it's a little slice of Heaven in Thailand if you're interested in the ladybar seen like in Pattaya or Bangkok. I review the street know as little pattaya. If you are traveling on a budget this is be a place for you. Room and board is relatively cheap here and the bars are cheap as well. It is a small town so you get to know everybody.
DISCLAIMER: cha am is a very small town, word travels quick. Example: If you have more than one girlfriend, most likely they will find out about it.

The Pattaya Ferry Departs Hua Hin, Thailand
Pattaya's new ferry service is a great way to go between Pattaya and Hua Hin.
More info and pictures:
In this video you can seethe ferry leaving Hua Hin enroute to Pattaya. This was shot from inside the Business Lounge, which is the upper level of the ferry. It was shot through the window so it's a bit hazy, with a little reflection.
The ferry leaves Khoa Takiab pier at 1:30pm. You can check in at 12:00 noon. Tickets are purchased at the pier. You can also call and reserve your seat early.
Be careful about the weather; they will cancel the ferry trip in bad weather. Always have a backup plan. The other options for getting rom Hua Hin to Pattaya (and vice versa) are the bus, a private car, and sometimes Thai regional airline Kan Air has flights on Fridays.
The bus or a car takes 5 - 6 hours, and the Ferry takes between 2 and 3 hours. I vote for the ferry :)
