I couldn't believe you can do THIS in Brighton ????????England Travel Vlog
Back in October, I was taken on a day of adventures in Brighton. From a city tour, to yoga to a sauna on the beach and a dip in the sea (in late October!) The day just got better and better and I haven't felt this free in a long time, especially in my home country!
This video is in partnership with Visit England who want to prove that you can have these wild adventures (like you would on a Gap Year) but just for the weekend - without having to leave home soil - they are calling this #MyMicrogap Where will yours take you?

Brighton part I
Brighton, one of the most notable cities by the sea at the UK. One of the main attractions of Brighton is his Royal Pavilion, built at the early 19 century as the home for the Prince Regent, later King George IV , and famous for its Indian architecture and Oriental interior design. First Prince visited Brighton at 1783, due to his physician advising him that the seawater would be beneficial to his gout. In 3 years he rented some farmhouse at the centre of Brighton, and soon it became a discreet location for the Prince to enjoy liaisons with his long-time companion, Mrs. Fitzherbert. He bought later land around the house, employs architect John Nash, which in 1815-22 redesigned Palace, how we see it now.

Queen - Live at Wembley '86 (DVD 2) (Part 4)
Live at Wembley '86 is a double live album by English rock band Queen. It was recorded live on Saturday 12 July 1986 during the Magic Tour at Wembley Stadium in London, England. The album was released on 26 May 1992, with a companion DVD released in June 2003.
The album was remastered and re-released with bonus tracks in August 2003 in the US as Live at Wembley Stadium after the companion DVD. This name has also been used on subsequent releases elsewhere, although they lack the bonus tracks included with the US version.
A remastered special edition DVD was released on 5 September 2011 in the UK (what would have been Freddie Mercury's 65th birthday), and for the first time included the Friday evening concert in addition to the Saturday night show. Snippets of the Friday show were included on earlier DVDs, but the remastered release marked the first time that the concert has been presented in full. A Deluxe Edition also included the Saturday concert in remastered CD form.

A little look around London and its fish n chips shops. Winston Churchill called them the good companions. John Lennon smothered his in tomato ketchup and Michael Jackson liked them with mushy peas. Even Charles Dickens has written about them. Of course we are talking about Fish n Chips. There is nothing more British than fish and chips and no better place to take a look than the capital, Welcome to London. The first fish and chip shop was opened in London by Joseph Malin in 1860 and they continue to be a great London and of course British institution. Joseph's family were rug weavers. To increase the family income they had begun frying chips in a downstairs room of their house. It was Joseph's idea to combine the chips - at that point a novelty in London - with fish from a nearby fried fish shop. It was from that date that the combo of fried fish and Chips was born in London. The concept of a fish restaurant was introduced by Samuel Isaac who ran a thriving wholesale and retail fish business throughout London and the South of England in the latter part of the 19th century. Isaacs' first restaurant opened in London in 1896 serving fish and chips, bread and butter, and tea for nine pence, and its popularity ensured a rapid expansion of the chain. The restaurants were carpeted, had waited service, tablecloths, flowers, china and cutlery, and made the trappings of upmarket dining affordable to the working classes for the first time. They were located in Tottenham Court Road, St Pancras, The Strand, Hoxton, Shoreditch, Brixton and other London districts, as well as Clacton, Brighton, Ramsgate, Margate and other seaside resorts in southern England. Did you know that, During World War II fish and chips remained one of the few foods in the United Kingdom not subject to rationing Traditional frying uses beef dripping or lard; however, vegetable oils, such as peanut oil are now commonly used. When it comes to the batter on the fish, fish and chip shops traditionally use a simple water and flour batter, adding a little baking soda and a little vinegar to create lightness, as they create bubbles in the batter. Other recipes may use beer or milk batter, where these liquids are often substitutes for water. Beer also results in an orange-brown colour. But they are a great guarded secret in many chippys. The fish of choice is for sure Cod followed by Haddock and Rock Salmon. Plaice, Skate and other lesser known fish turn up on the menu as well. Salt n Vinegar are a must, now there are a few types of vinegar, my favourite being onion, but others like malt. Pickled onion and gherkins (also known as wollys) are a bit of a must, as are pickled eggs, although i am really not a fan of them. Mushy peas are another great favourite in London Chippys, unlike further north of the UK where chips and gravy are served. Fishcakes, pies, sausage in batter and saveloys are also widely on hand for people who are not in to eating whole fish. The Saveloy is basically a big hot dog type of sausage, don't ask what is in them…. Well that was our short trip around London to see fish n chips, see you again soon on How to cook great food .com

England Tourist Royal Pavilion Brighton Sussex
In the 16th century Brighton, then called Brighthelmston, was a fishing village. In the 18th century the fishing industry went into decline, people moved away to look for work and those that remained were poverty stricken, too poor to pay their rates. Today it is a lively cosmopolitan metropolis, often referred to as London-by-the-Sea. Due to its close proximity to the capital city, being less than one hour’s journey time away, Londoners flock to Brighton at week-ends, which probably gave rise to the saying ‘a dirty weekend in Brighton’ helped, no doubt, by the antics of the future King of England, George IV, at the time of his visits to the town.
The town’s fortunes were reversed, in part, by some doctors claiming that diseases could be cured by bathing in sea-water. King George III was the first royal to regularly visit the seaside town of Weymouth to swim. His son, later to become King George IV, favoured Brighton where he rented a respectable farm-house, which he then purchased and extended into what is now the Royal Pavilion, Brighton. Being away from London and his parents, who he never got on well with and they him, allowed him the freedom to indulge in his extravagant lifestyle and his passions of drinking, womanising and gambling that scandalised the country and got him heavily into debt. It was also a discreet location for the Prince to enjoy liaisons with his long-time companion, Maria Fitzherbert, whom he later married in secret.
Travel in the 18th century was expansive so only rich towns people could afford to holiday at the seaside. The rich have a tendency to follow in the footsteps of the royals, so houses for the wealthy were built as Brighton attracted everyone of importance.
Queen Victoria made her first visit to the Royal Pavilion in 1837. Wanting to distance herself and her family from her Uncle’s lavish lifestyle and extravagance she adopted a frugal lifestyle. She hated the lack of privacy and space that the Royal Pavilion offered her and her growing family so finally she sold it to the town of Brighton for £50,000 in 1850. She ordered the building to be stripped of all interior decorations, fittings and furnishings for use in other royal homes. Some of these have been returned but it is nothing like it was in its heyday.
During the First World War the Pavilion was transformed into a military hospital. From December 1914 to January 1916, sick and wounded soldiers from the Indian Army were treated in the former palace.

Emmaus Communities enable people to move on from homelessness, providing work and a home in a supportive, family environment. Companions, as residents are known, work full time collecting and reselling donated furniture. This work supports the Community financially and enables residents to develop skills, rebuild their self-respect and help others in greater need.
Companions receive accommodation, food, clothing and a small weekly allowance, but for many, the greatest benefit is a fresh start. To join a Community, they sign off unemployment benefits and agree to participate in the life and work of the Community to the best of their abilities.
Emmaus is a secular movement, spanning 36 countries, with 20 Communities in the UK. Each Community aims to become self-supporting, with any surplus donated to others in need.

Original Description
Viewer Discretion Advised: NOT Suitable for Young Viewers!
In this special edition Gracie Breakdown, Ryron and Rener analyze a street fight that took place at a gas station in Arizona between a New York DJ Freekie London and a Truck Driver. Although most Gracie Breakdowns analyze the successful jiu-jitsu application of one or both of the fighters, Ryron and Rener take this opportunity to point out the threats, dangers, and excessive damage that occurs when jiu-jitsu is NOT part of the equation. They discuss everything from how to avoid altercations by managing the combative energy of an interaction, to the critical differences between Sport and Street behavioral patterns that every jiu-jitsu pracitioner must be aware of. Although it's hard to watch, this is unquestionably one of the most important Gracie Breakdowns of all time. Please share it with other members of the jiu-jitsu community.
