How do you train for running long distance with someone who lives 1000 miles away? You record your training runs and talk to your running partner as if they were there and load them up to youtube!
This is my second week and only consists of footage from my long run. It is directed towards my best friend Tim, but is available for anyone interested in running, training, and trails.
This run is in the Gowlland Tod Range on southern Vancouver Island on the Timberman trail and summits Jocelyn Hill and Holmes Peak.

My 2010 Road Trip through North America in the Nissan Pathfinder HD 720p
This footage had been sitting on my HDD for two and a half years before I finally assembled it into something watchable. In May 2010, I took my beloved Nissan Pathfinder on a 13 500km solo road trip through the Rocky Mountains, south western states, west coast states and western Canadian provinces. I spent a week with my fellow Nissan 4x4 owners running trails in Moab, UT, then made my way west to Monterey Bay, north to Victoria BC and then back home to Ontario, stopping at any national/state/provincial park along the way. My favorite places were Canyonlands N.P., Zion N.P., the Redwood forests of Northern California, Gowlland Tod Provincial Park, The Lussier Hot Springs, Kevin's badass home made sauna, Yosemite N.P., Kootenay N.P. and Death Valley N.P. I enjoyed Utah and Colorado so much that I returned 2 years later to explore a little more (video coming soon), and I will be back again in 2014 to see the rest of Utah's national parks.
It was a great trip, learning experience and a lot of fun to meet some new friends from the internets as well as spend some time with some relatives. I wish I had taken a little more video of them, so remember to do that when you are in the same situation. Hard drive space is cheap! I hope this video encourages you to explore your country and enjoy the natural beauty it holds. I am fortunate to be able to do so and if you are also in my position, you should do the same.

Best Bakery Near Victoria BC plus an Easy Hike with Beautiful Views - Vlog 126
This week we are taking a short drive (20 mins) to Mosi Bakery, one of the best bakeries near downtown Victoria in West Saanich. Mosi is an Italian bakery with fresh baked Italian breads, pastries, gelato and Italian coffee. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights are pizza nights at Mosi bakery. You can have breakfast, lunch or brunch at Mosi bakery. My favourite baked good at Mosi bakery is their famous compost cookie: a chocolate chip cookie with potato chips and pretzels on top. Today everybody had pizza and then Trinity and I had gelato and Tim had a chocolate croissant and an almond cookie.
After Mosi bakery we all went for a super easy hike at Gowlland Tod Provincial Park just a short 15 minute drive from Mosi. This is a nice easy flat walk with spectacular views of the Todd Inlet. It is a manageable short walk that we were able to do along the inlet with Tim´s parents so that they were able to enjoy the views without any climbing. Note, they did have some problems with balance on the rocks and tree branches. This vlog also has a special appearance from my daughter Trinity, thanks for asking about her :)

GOLDSTREAM TRAIL, MALAHAT DRIVE, NANAIMO bc british columbia canada
From Wheelchair Nomad diary... 2003 CC
An early start was important, because I had organised to meet my cousin Shirley Pugh (McLaughlin) in Nanaimo, a 100-kilometre drive over the Malahat Trail on Highway 1. “Remember,” Shirley told me, “Exit Hwy 1 at Campbell River, follow that freeway to the sign saying City Centre, turn right and I’ll be waiting in a maroon Oldsmobile station wagon at 11.00 AM.” “Wow!” I wondered. “Would I manage this navigational feat?
We drove up Douglas Street, which becomes Highway 1 and were soon out of the city without a wrong turn. I remembered the mountains and magnificent red cedar forest at Gold stream Provincial Park, so we stopped for photographs. “I love this country,” Richard declared. “Everything is so beautiful. These trees are gigantic.” Stopping at Gold stream Eco Resort we talked to a horse rider. “I live next door but commute everyday into Victoria. It’s a long drive but I wouldn’t live anywhere else. On Wednesdays I take a half day to horse ride.” The steep pass known as the Malahat Trail gave more photograph opportunities, looking down on distant blue lakes backed by snow-clad mountains.
