The garden extends to 50 acres and is most famous for its 3 acre turf amphitheatre, one of the only surviving examples of its kind in Europe.

Hersham Barn Fire April 2012
Massive barn fire in Hersham and there was explosives in the barn and lots of them after a few hours and lots of water the fire men managed to put the fire out.
There was about 10 fire trucks and 4 water tanks and about 30-40 fire men.
No one was injured all of the works managed to get out.

West Byfleet Golf Club
West Byfleet is a traditional members club with a strong friendly family tradition, an outstanding golf course and a relaxed social environment in which to play the game. Established in 1906 and located only 3 miles from Woking the club is easily accessible from both the A3 and the M25.
Designed by Cuthbert Butchart, a much respected professional of his time, West Byfleet when originally laid out had many features in common with a number of other Surrey Heathland courses. Today those features remain with a rolling maintenance programme for the course in implementation. Being located on a large seam of “Bagshot sand” the course drains extremely quickly and even during the wetter months, our course remained open longer than many other clubs in the area. Full course irrigation was installed in 2011 meaning Members enjoy excellent golfing conditions throughout the year.
Measuring 6,200 yards off the men’s competition tees with a par of 70 and six par four holes of over 400 yards each. It is regarded as a good test of golf, indeed par is rarely broken. The ladies’ course measures 5,600 yards with a par of 72. The Club’s signature hole is the 13th Pond hole, a short but tricky par 3.
Visitors and societies are most welcome during the week and West Byfleet prides itself on ensuring that all visitors have a very enjoyable experience. Whatever the occasion our professional staff are on hand to provide quality service and assistance.

Sunbury Golf & Function Centre is a well-established Golf Centre ideally located five minutes from Junction 1 of the M3 and close to the major areas of Walton, Weybridge, Shepperton, Staines and Ashford.
All areas of Sunbury Golf Centre are totally available to the general public and prides itself on being both affordable and accessible to all ages and standard of golfer .
Sunbury Golf Centre comprises an 18-hole course, a 9-hole course, a 32-bay floodlit driving range, Crown Golf Academy, a fully stocked golf shop, a fully licensed bar with bar menu and a large function room bookable 7 nights a week.
Sunbury Golf Centre possesses 27 holes of golf which are ideal for all standards of golfer. The 18 hole course is a testing par 68 measuring 5153 yards with the 6th and 8th holes being particularly challenging as they run parallel to a large lake. The course finishes with a long par 5 running back to the clubhouse.
The 9 hole course is perfect for those new to golf or for those who don't have time for a full 18 holes. The course measures 2444 yards and is made up of six par 4's and three par 3's providing a good challenge in its own right.

I fulfilled one of my lifelong dreams on the 7th May 2010 when I went to see the street which Julie considers her true childhood home. It was a lovely area, I LOVED seing it at the same time as feeling quite emotional and sad... for the Old Meuse, as her house was called, no longer exists. Instead they've built flats/houses over the area. I filmed the spot around me where the Meuse would have stood (I don't know exactly where). from where I'm standing filming up the street that leas to the spot where I am, you can see the Dickensian looking houses that Julie mentions in her autobiography... I later had a walk over the lawn, which I believe might have been part of the Andrews' family's garden and I felt so sad, for there wasn't even a little plaque or similar around the spot recognising Julie (correct me if anyone knows I'm in fact wrong) I say we should do something about that, don't you think?!! Anyway, for those of you that love and treasure Dame Julie Andrews as much as I do: ENJOY the clip:)
