Columbus Man Accused of Sexual Battery Against%2
LEWIS CENTER (Tom Bosco) -- A man accused of sexual battery against a 14-year-old girl is a former state employee, attorney, and legislative aide who was fired from his job with the Ohio Department of Transportation for using a state computer to surf for pornography.
Scott Spencer, 57, appeared in court today, and was slapped with a $200,000 bond after deputies say he was caught with the teen at Highbanks Metropark on Friday.
A park ranger says he saw Spencer Friday, walking in an area that is usually closed, questioned hi,m and then followed him back into the woods. That's when the ranger says he found the teen, partially clothed and partially bound. Spencer was arrested and charged with two counts of sexual battery.
Prosecutors said in court Monday that Spencer met the girl online. They also said he told investigators he had taken the girl to the park previously and abused her.
A review of personnel records show Spencer was fired in 2012 from his job with the office of chief counsel for ODOT for using his state computer to search for porn. Investigators said he came in on weekends and holidays for that purpose. Spencer took the job with ODOT after losing his ability to practice law in Ohio. In 2003 Spencer resigned as a lawyer, rather than face being disbarred for falsifying documents in a real estate deal, in which he was attorney for both the seller and the buyer. He also had his law license suspended for a year in 1994 for falsifying documents in a personal injury case.
In the 1980s, Spencer was a legislative aide in the Ohio Senate and a press secretary in the Ohio House.
The parents of the teenaged victim were in court today. The mother of the victim wept. When asked for a comment, the girl's father said, All you can do is love your children and be careful.
As of Monday evening, Spencer remained in the Delaware County Jail. If he posts bail, he will be forced to wear a GPS monitor and stay at least five miles away from the victim. Spencer did not enter a plea Monday.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Baton Rouge ( BAT-ən ROOZH; from French bâton rouge [bɑtɔ̃ ʁuʒ] (listen), meaning 'red stick') is the capital of the U.S. state of Louisiana and its second-largest city. Located on the eastern bank of the Mississippi River, it is the parish seat of East Baton Rouge Parish.
As its capital city, Baton Rouge is the political hub of Louisiana. It is the second-largest city in the state, with an estimated population of 227,715 in 2016. The metropolitan area surrounding the city, known as Greater Baton Rouge, is also the second-largest in Louisiana, with a population of 830,480 people as of 2015. The urban area has around 594,309 inhabitants.
Baton Rouge is a major industrial, petrochemical, medical, research, motion picture, and growing technology center of the American South. It is the location of Louisiana State University, the LSU System's flagship university and the largest institution of higher education in the state. It is also the location of Southern University, the flagship institution of the Southern University System, the only historically black college system in the nation. The Port of Greater Baton Rouge is the 10th-largest in the United States in terms of tonnage shipped, and is the farthest upstream Mississippi River port capable of handling Panamax ships. The Baton Rouge area owes its historical importance to its strategic site upon the Istrouma Bluff, the first natural bluff upriver from the Mississippi River Delta. This allowed development of a business quarter safe from seasonal flooding. In addition, the city built a levee system stretching from the bluff southward to protect the riverfront and low-lying agricultural areas. The city is a culturally rich center, with settlement by immigrants from numerous European nations and African peoples brought to North America as slaves or indentured servants. It was ruled by seven different governments: French, British, and Spanish in the colonial era, West Floridian, United States territory and state, Confederate, and United States again.
