TWEPI 2017 Essex
There’s a lot to do on Parallel 42! Stretching from the centre of Essex County to the north shore of Lake Erie, the Town of Essex is uniquely positioned on the 42nd parallel, a circle of latitude shared with northern California and central Italy. It’s no wonder that the largest number of vineyards are located in the town or that they grow the very best Ontario grapes.
Travel along historic County Road 50 for a laidback tour of the area, stopping at John R. Park Homestead to relive the area’s 19th century past, or follow the Waterfront Trail to Colchester Centre with its beautiful harbour, park, splash pad and beach. The ‘Walleye Capital of Canada’ is the home of friendly hospitality.
As you bike, cycle or drive along the Essex County wine route, be sure to stop and experience our award-winning wineries and the bounty of the county. Take a few swings on a golf course, spike a ball over our beach volleyball nets, or let the family cool off at one of our splash pads.

A Canadian Branchline Railroad Exploration in Rural Ontario, Canada.
Hello everyone! Here is a bit of a different and unique video for this week, one that focuses on a branchline railroad in rural Ontario, one that focuses on days gone by in the town of Stratford, Ontario, all while displaying the present-day railroad and its operations.
You may have heard of the town of Stratford for its dedication to the fine arts and fine arts performances such as musicals and plays, but over one-hundred years ago, it was an important town on the Grand Trunk Railway system. In those days, Stratford was a railroad-based town with a large engine repair and maintenance facility, which still stands today, approximately 1/4 a mile away from the Stratford Station. Stratford also had a pretty sizable yard which is still in use to this day and the line through Stratford, believe it or not, was a mainline for the Grand Trunk Railway in those days.
In 1923, Canadian National had acquired Grand Trunk, but it kept the operations at Stratford intact and Stratford still served as an important town on the CN system. However, by 1960, things began to change. In the early 1960s, the engine shop closed as a result of CN moving from steam to diesel power, and by the 1970s, the mainline through Stratford was thought as redundant to the CN mainline through London, and thus the line through Stratford was downgraded. As a result, the yard was also downgraded and Stratford was no longer seen as a vital town to the Canadian National Railway.
That being said, not all is lost. The yard and the line around Stratford is still used by the Goderich-Exeter Railway, a shortline that serves the local grain industry and other industries from Stratford to Kitchener, Guelph, as well as the London and Toronto suburbs, with car exchanges with the Canadian Pacific in Kitchener and with the Canadian National in Toronto. In addition, as you will see in the video, Via Rail Canada also passes through Stratford and has four daily trains.
All in all, this video is dedicated to a by-gone era and the legacy it has left, as well as a display of railroad industry evolution. I hope you enjoy the video!

MODEL TRAINS HO Scale Vermont & Essex New England 1950s Steam Era Layout
DECEMBER 28 2019 Please Like and Subscribe! A narrated overview of the Vermont & Essex defining layout. Turns out they have two layouts, one modern, and under construction, and this magnificent finished layout featuring the Rutland, Central Vermont, Boston and Maine, Maine Central locations in New England. Several of the towns are based on the actual places, and I was able to spot them due to my Dad's Central Vermont books and the fact he worked for the company in the 70s and early 80s, based in Montreal with Canadian National. This layout features mostly American railroads in New England, but is run by Francophones in Montreal, Quebec. It is a finished layout, featuring St. Albans train station, White River Junction station, and Essex Junction stations all faithful to their architecture It is pure joy watching this layout in operation.
TS2019 Rail Disasters - Canadian Collision Course (1986 Hinton train collision)
This is a re-upload due to a copyright claim which resulted in a block. So anyways same as before, just a re-upload.
Rail Disasters is a Train Simulator series simulating and recreating the events of real world train accidents
Episode 10: Canadian Collision Course:
On February 8, 1986, a Canadian National Railway freight train collides with a Via Rail passenger train called the Super Continental. 23 people were killed and 71 were injured. It was the deadliest rail disaster in Canada at the time, since 1947. It was surmised that the accident was a result of the crew of the freight train becoming incapacitated, and the resulting investigations revealed serious flaws in CN's employee practices.

NOTE:
-The consists are not fully accurate like the VIA Rail with E8 instead of F7s, it was what I had available
-Mark Edwards age is 25 not 28, it was a typo
-Due to the assets I have and there is available for TS, not everything in the simulation is fully accurate
