692. Chch EQ 22/Feb/2011 Hereford St, CTV, Trinity Church
Part 2 of 6. Filmed on 29 April 2011. Christchurch NZ was hammered by a massive Earthquake at 12.51pm on 22 February 2011. At that time I did not own any video camera. Later, on some occasions I was able to borrow a Digital-8mm or a mini-DV camera and tripod from the Aoraki Polytechnic where I was a student. As time went on I bought several old video cameras most of which had worn-out rechargeable batteries, but which still ran well from mains electricity supply on 230 volts. By plugging a 12v to 230volt inverter into my car and using an extension lead, I was able to record a number of locations around my general area. Where possible I will identify which camera was most likely used for which recording. Those camera recordings were copied to a Hard Drive DVD recorder, which later became defective. Only yesterday did I manage to retrieve those recordings. They are uploaded in chronological order and several of them have accurate date and time information included. Apologies in advance for traffic and wind noise in places, and for lack of tripod use when none was available. This video was recorded using Kyocera 8mm video camera. I consent to this footage being used elsewhere for other creative works, so long as appropriate credit is given.

The historic site, originally established in 1844, was later expanded in 1927 as the Trinity Methodist Theological College to train theologians of the Christian faith, who later carried their missions throughout the Pacific Rim. In its new incarnation, as a spiritual center for Scientologists of all New Zealand, it brings full circle the ideas of faith and spirituality under the tenets of Scientology’s goals of a world free of war and want, and committed to humanitarian aims.

Keep Your Mind in Hell & Despair Not: The Teachings of St. Silouan - Part 2
St. Silouan walked the earth, laboured with his hands and lived among people as a simple human, but nobody except God ever knew him.' -- Bishop Alexander Mileant
Why is it that few have known of St. Silouan, much less understood the teaching which God Himself revealed to our generation through him?
In this two-part lecture series, Fr. Veselin will explore the mysterious instruction to 'Keep your mind in hell and despair not' and the power it has to bring us victory over the enemy and lead us to perfect likeness of our Lord Jesus Christ. Part 2 explores the teachings of St. Silouan.

Swarthmore Presbyterian Church Welcomes You!
Welcome to SPC! We hope you will find friends among us to share your journey of faith.
We are a family of faith committed to preaching, teaching, and living the Word of God. We respond to the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ through love for and service to each other, our community, and a world in need. Acknowledging that our blessings are from God and meant to be shared, we seek to transcend ourselves and to embody our faith in the world, reaching out to those who need our help. To the best of our ability, but with Christ’s own humility, we strive to be the hands of God extended in love and acceptance.
Swarthmore Presbyterian Church seeks to be a diverse but united worshiping and learning community that plays a constructive role in society and the world at large. Rather than construct barriers to God’s grace, we invite all who trust in God through Jesus Christ and who seek the Spirit’s challenge, guidance, and comfort to join us for a committed journey of faith. All children of God are accepted.
Though one community, we are also unique persons, mutually interactive and individually reflective. Our members include those who are politically conservative and liberal, interested in national issues and world affairs. We have a deep and abiding love for each other. We strive to manifest inclusiveness as an open and socially concerned congregation.
Following our denomination’s Brief Statement of Faith, we call all women and all men to ministries of the church. We cherish our traditional belief in God’s sole lordship of the conscience. In regard to questions presently before the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) regarding ordination, we welcome to our community and to positions of leadership both heterosexual and homosexual Christians called by God to serve as members of the body of Christ.
About SPC
Swarthmore Presbyterian Church has over 700 active members and is a member of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the Philadelphia Presbytery. Please explore the 'About Us' menu options to the left to learn more about us.
Please Join Us For Worship
We worship as a gathered community of faith on Sunday mornings. Our Order of Worship follows the Reformed tradition, where Word and Sacrament are central. The New Revised Standard Version of the Bible is used for all Scripture references. Sermons are bible-based, usually following the New Revised Common Lectionary. The 2013 Presbyterian hymnal, Glory to God is used in all services.
The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper is offered monthly, usually on the first Sunday of the month during Common Worship and on the third Sunday of the month during Early Worship. All Christians are welcome at the Lord's table, without regard to church membership. To ensure this sacrament is available to members unable to get to worship in person, the deacons offer Home Communion.
