Holywell to Gordon Town hike (Jamaica) - Nov. 2011
Holywell is part of the Blue & John Crow Mountains National Park in eastern Jamaica and looks down from 4000' on to Kingston, just an hour's drive away. Some students from UTECH do their community service at Hoylwell, helping to maintain the park. On this occasion, after about two hours of work clearing tall grass from the nearby roadside, we walked back down the six miles to Gordon Town. First amongst the coffee trees, then pushing through the overgrowth to the pine forest before taking the road for a mile or so to the community of Redlight. There we turn down and follow the river the rest of the way, finally jumping on the bus back to Papine. It takes about 3-4 hours, all downhill!

Holywell Park and Newcastle Military Training Wing, Jamaica
In this video we go to Holywell Park, located just above Kingston, Jamaica. The road there takes you through a spectacular drive on a mountain road through Military Training Wing called Newcastle. Be sure to stop at the Cafe Blue to enjoy great Blue Mountain coffee and even greater view.

Tavern children at Holywell - 13 April 2013
After several weeks of Saturday classes in the Tavern community (Kingston, Jamaica), taught by students from the University of Technology, Jamaica community service programme, we all went on a trip into the hills, to Holywell National Park.
After a one-hour ride in the bus, climbing to over 3,500 ft, the children enjoyed the playground, walked a 20-minute trail, splashed in the small waterfall, ate a meal of chicken and rice and then received certificates of excellence. Ripe bananas the last treat before driving back down the hill to Tavern.
Thanks to Mr. Brown (bus driver), to Poochie and Prince for the food and to the UTECH students for their dedicated work throughout the semester.

ISLANDBOI OUTDOORS ADVENTURE GROUP....................................
Okay, so a group of us hikers and campers hiked up the hills of St. Andrew last EASTER! We had a fun weekend up in the mountains, #holywell for about 2 nights and 2 days alongside new hikers and old....LOL. The entire trip was just filled with game and LOTS of laughter. They were the first group i went camping with back in 2016 and loved it. We hike together almost even 3 months.

Its a new group formed for adventurous people, willing to tour the Island discovering new places and sharing new experiences with new faces, building friendships as we grow. We were established in April of 2018, and has been in operation since.
