Mendoza, Argentina - Maipu Wineries, Bike Tour, Paseo Sarmiento & 1884
Welcome to beautiful Mendoza, Argentina, the heart of Argentina's wine country. Blue skies, vines, mountains, cafes and atmospheric plazas abound...as does the Malbec. We visited Bodega Familia Zuccardi and rented bikes from Maipu Bikes.
Buenos Aires Day Tours, Horseback Riding, Polo Classes, The Tigre Delta, Argentina 2012
One of my favorite things about living in a city like Buenos Aires is the number of day trips that are available only about an hour outside of the Federal Capital. This video shows two of these trips—the first being to El Tigre and the second to San Antonio de Areco. Both places offer the opportunity to experience life in the provinces, which in general tends to be slower paced that that of the city center.

Wine Tasting Bike Tour with #OWOW2017 - Maipu Region of Mendoza, Argentina
There are 3 wine regions in Mendoza, Argentina and we made sure to visit wineries in all 3 regions. Maipu was the final region visited and we took public transportation to the area and rented bicycles to tour the various bodegas in the area. This video is a highlight of our time spent at Bodega La Rural, the oldest winery in all of Argentina. Can you imagine the fun and difficulty in riding a bike after having so much wine?

Argentina's Wine Country ???? It's Not What We Expected! Mendoza Wine Tour. This is Hotel Club Tapiz.
We stayed at the a beautiful, small boutique hotel (Finca) called Club Tapiz just outside of Mendoza, Argentina in an area called Maipu. Maipu is a very popular area for wine in the Mendoza Region. While here we take you on a full tour of the hotel, including the old winery, the grounds including the pool, the restaurant and the gardens. We also take you on a tour of our room.
Later we head about 20 minutes away from Club Tapiz to their winery. Here we get to go on a full wine tour of the property and the vineyards. This ended up being one of the best wine tours we’ve ever done. It happened to be harvest season when we visited and therefore got an inside look (and taste) of the full wine making process. While here we got to taste wine is the various stages of production, even right out of the barrel. We also got to taste one of their best wines, a Malbec. Mendoza is best known for being the main producer of Malbec and you must try it when coming to the region.
Lastly, before we left the winery we got to visit the Llamas which live on the premisses!

Mendoza Trip, Vineyard Tours, Biking, Wine And Olive Oil Tasting, Argentina, 2012
One of my favorite trips that I took this semester while studying abroad in Argentina was my trip to Mendoza. Not only was it a relaxing trip away from all of the hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, it was also a great chance to explore the culture of western Argentina and enjoy two of Mendoza's specialties: wine and olive oil.

Para quem quer conhecer uma bodega e saber como os vinhos são feitos, Bodegas Lopez é uma das maiores do distrito de Mendoza.
Conta com tour guiado e prova de vinhos totalmente gratuito.
The best time of year to visit Mendoza is generally from October until April, from planting until harvest. Spring (September-November) will be warm but with great weather! Visiting in summer (January and February)? Expect hot temperatures and intermittent rains. The best time to visit is in March (in the Fall) for harvesting (the cosecha or vendimia).
However, I'd say that Mendoza is a great destination year-round. The vines will begin to regrow for spring at around the end of September.
Mendoza is to wine lovers what Disney World is to a 6-year-old, paradise. Wineries are everywhere, they are beautiful and best of all, they are very affordable to visit.
Seeing how wine is made and all of the work and dedication that goes into it will give you a new appreciation for it. You'll learn how to taste and before you know it, you'll be the person announcing to the dinner party that you taste hints of lemongrass in your sauvignon blanc!
