The Hull Story 1
The Hull Story - presented by Ronald Fairfax. Sorry about the quality, but it was transferred to DVD from VHS tape and then ripped from DVD to this digital version. A very interesting insight into Hull's history. I don't think the original is still available. If I'm not breaking any rules I have others in the series that I could post.
A Drive Around Hull City Centre from 1969
Cine film made by my Grandma Maud Mellors, Landlady of the Lion Hotel, Redbourne Street. These films and many more recently discovered in my Mothers attic.

Walking in HULL / UK ????????- 4K 60fps (UHD)
The city of Hull, also called Kingston upon Hull, is a port city South of York in England.
We start our walk at the city centre on the Victoria Square. We walk around the centre a bit which is rather empty this evening because Hull also hosts Europes biggest fun fair. The fair is happening at the moment.
From the centre with sights like the Princess Quay and Hull Minster we also see the old town with the Scale Lane and some old bars around there. We miss the marina this time. Walking along the River Hull it is getting darker so we end this walk on the Scale Lane Swing Bridge which is an interesting construction.

Whether you are a born and bred Hullensian, or a newcomer to this great city of culture, then don’t miss the opportunity to be part of Hull on Film.
This amazing journey through the decades begins with the earliest days of filmmaking, through to the building and opening of the iconic Humber Bridge in 1981. Over 80 years of moving image history will be revealed, including World War I fundraising footage, rare shots of Amy Johnson, and an insight into the work of the Sailors’ Families Society at the Newlands Estate.
Relive the excitement of the famous Hull Fair, and in contrast reflect on the devastation left behind by the Luftwaffe in 1941. Experience the jubilation of VE Day celebrations across the city, followed by regeneration and renewal during the 1950s, sporting triumphs, the heyday and subsequent decline of Hull’s fishing industry, plus much, much more!
Capturing the sights, sounds, faces, places, changing landscapes and industries, great events and everyday lives of the people of Hull, this one-off event will reveal Hull’s rich and diverse film heritage curated especially for Hull2017 by the Yorkshire Film Archive in partnership with Hull Independent Cinema.
Led by Yorkshire Film Archive and Sheffield Doc/Fest, the project to bring Hull on Film to the big screen as part of Hull2017 is supported by the BFI, Film Hub North as part of a year of ‘transformative film culture for Hull’ during its reign as UK City of Culture.
