Today, I stopped at the Isafjordur cruise terminal for merely 5 hours, I was able to walk around Isafjordur, Iceland and soak up it's amazing beauty. This place is amazing! The landscape is so dramatic!
I tried my best to capture as many beautiful shots as possible, but time was running against me.
o Isafjordur, Iceland – Sep 11, 2015 – Traveling Made-up Continents by Gillicuddy
A visit to Hesteyri with its outstanding unique untouched nature is like taking a tour to the last century. Hesteyri is an old fishing village in the nature reserve Hornstrandir which is on the furthest point of the northwest of Iceland. The village’s prime time was 100 years ago but in 1952 the last residents left. The ruin of the old whaling station is a reminder of the good old times. Today there are still 10 houses in the original style and being used as summerhouses. You can only travel by boat to Hesteyri from the middle of June till the middle of August. We took a hike along the shore, spotted seals and even an Arctic fox. A serene waterfall flows down from the highlands; this place is just beautiful, I bet the folks that left regretted their decision. While boating back, we even caught glimpses of dorsal fins surfacing by killer whales and whales. It was a good day.

I was able to visit Isafjordur Iceland, for about 5 hours. I tried to capture as much footage as I could.
I compiled all of my footage from that day and put it in to this little clip that highlights my favorite shots within Isafjordur - cinematic, in a way. This is such a beautiful place!
Anyway, it was an amazing day and totally worth going!
Thanks for watching!

Iceland Golden Circle, Waterfalls and Hiking
Iceland’s popularity is surging, due in part to an increase in media attention, budget airfares and a wealth of attractions, from the immensely popular Golden Circle and Blue Lagoon to the rugged moonscapes of the Highlands.
My favorite experience in Iceland took place off the beaten path, with a group of travel industry folks in Landmannalaugar. We spent the day hiking Brennisteinsalda, an active volcano said to be the most colorful volcano in the country. We walked past crooked rock formations, some steaming with sulfurous vapors, and over burnt orange and charcoal hills.
While bathing in the Blue Lagoon (Iceland’s most popular attraction) was an incredible experience, the dip we took in Landmannalaugar’s secret hot spring was far more rewarding. As the thermal waters soothed our sore muscles, locals shared beers and chatted with us about life in Iceland.
Another highlight for me was riding Icelandic horses on a black-sand beach in Vik—located nearby Myrdalsjokull Glacier and Katla Volcano. The team at Viking Horses took me out on a day tour and taught me the basics of riding on this unique breed of horse. I watched as my guide demonstrated the flying pace, the fifth gait, and rode through the lapping waves. It was one of the most stunning sights I’ve had on my travels, and I’m lucky to have captured the moment in this video.
Watch to discover incredible waterfalls (Gullfoss, Skogafoss, Seljalandsfoss), Southern Iceland’s Fjadrargljufur canyon, Thingvellir National Park, Kirkjufell in West Iceland and snowmobiling on top of Myrdalsjokull glacier.
Keep in mind that this video is merely a teaser of some of my favorite travel moments in Iceland, condensed into less than two minutes. Clearly, there’s much more to see and do in the Land of Fire and Ice. Have you had an awesome experience while traveling in Iceland? Anything that you would recommend for my next trip? Please tell me what I missed out on in the comments section below.

Iceland - Day 5 - Just Driving
We leave the town of Ísafjörður and make our way around the Westfjords. After a detour to the northern most road in the region, we traverse the heart of the pennisula on a long and bumpy gravel road. Including lots of climbs and descents, a two way / one land tunnel and the spectacular Dynjandi waterfall. Leaving the Westfjords, we head out onto the Snæfellsnes peninsula towards the great mountain. Finally resting at our horse farm guesthouse in Grundarfjörður.
