Visit Ilkley
Ilkley is a picturesque town set in the Yorkshire Dales and is the perfect place for a short break. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and the famous Ilkley Moor there's miles of beautiful countryside to explore. Ilkley is also a Walkers are Welcome town, a title that recognises the town's walks for all abilities and its commitment to welcoming walkers.
Ilkley also has lots of interesting independent shops including vintage boutiques, gift shops and delicatessens. There are lots of cafes, pubs and restaurants including the famous Betty's Cafe and Tearooms and the Michelin starred Box Tree.
For culture visit the Manor House Art Gallery and Museum or enjoy the Ilkley Literature Festival in October.
The town has an abundance of accommodation from hotels, to guest houses and luxury self catering cottages.

070: Inspiration of Ilkley (Ilkley Moor, White Wells and Cow and Calf Rocks)
SOUTH PENNINES WALK FEATURING ILKLEY MOOR AND COW AND CALF ROCKS
Inspiration of Ilkley”
Filmed 31st October 2016
Running time: 17 minutes
I plan a visit to Ilkley Moor, another place I have never visited before now. Walking across the moors I discover an old spa cottage before descending into Ilkley, a lovely town, which I thoroughly enjoy exploring. Climbing back onto Ilkley Moor I head for the intriguing rocks known as “Cow and Calf”…..
Filmed in the South Pennines in the county of West Yorkshire. Locations include Ilkley Moor, Cow and Calf rocks, White Wells Spa Cottage and Ilkley.
Written, researched, directed, camera and sound, edited and music by Patrick Leach.
Any other names credited in this film, i.e. Bob Morgan and Martin Roy, are pseudonyms, which I used at the time of making this film. However, I no longer use these pseudonyms as I want viewers to be clear that my films are completely my own work.

Ilkley Moor Yorkshire - The Swastika Stone
Here's my third and final part to series on Ilkley Moor. This part starts from White Wells, on the Northern Edge of Rombalds Moor overlooking Addingham. Finding and discovering the whereabouts of ancient marked stones, including the Swastika Stone, was a worthwhile mission.

On Ilkla Mooar baht 'at / On Ilkley Moor baht 'at: The song and history
Hear how it should be sung! Many people have corrupted this song over the last 50 years. In this film, Arnold Kellett (author of a book on the song), goes back to the tune's origins as 'Cranbrook' composed in 1805. He then goes on to explain how it came about and the meaning of the original lyrics, in Yorkshire dialect. This is the orginal song - not the corrupted lyrics found on Wikipedia or other web sites!
