The month of love at Imbizo Tours
Travelling with your significant other is one of the best things you can do together.
Going on holiday together is a great way for couples to both relax and really get to know each other. They could be discovering unfamiliar terrain together, wandering through a vineyard hand in hand in the beautiful city of Cape Town South Africa, reading dog-eared novels on a beach or drinking away in a dimly-lit bar in the Great City of Johannesburg.

Soweto, Vilakazi Street, Johannesburg✔
Everything you want to know about South Africa you will find in this channel!
Right in the heart of South Africa’s largest, and the world’s most famous, township (so big, it’s practically a city in its own right) Vilakazi Street is where Nelson Mandela spent the first couple of nights upon his release after 27 years of imprisonment, with his former wife, Winnie Mandela. Number 8115 Orlando West was also where he lived between 1946 and 1962.
The Vilakazi Street
Just about every tour through Soweto stops at Vilakazi Street. There is reason enough. It is probably the most famous street in the huge Soweto township in Johannesburg.
Both Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu lived here – how many places can claim that two Nobel Prize winners lived in the same street. In fact, Tutu, as he is more fondly known, still lives here with his wife Leah, and when he's in town he is said to stroll the streets.
Mandela's house has become a museum. It is called the Mandela House Museum and is open for public tours during the week. But there is more to Vilakazi Street. A block away from here Hector Peterson was killed by police during the students' uprising of June 16 1976, today celebrated as Youth Day. Now the Hector Peterson Museum and memorial stand on the corner of Moema and Vilakazi Streets.
Dr BW Vilakazi, after whom the street is named, was a poet, novelist and intellectual, who wrote in numerous indigenous languages. He was also the first black man to teach at Wits, the University of the Witwatersrand, even if he had to be employed as a 'language assistant' because of bureaucracy that did not allow black lecturers. Later, armed with a PhD in literature, he helped develop the written form of both isiZulu and siSwati, and helped put together the isiZulu dictionary.
Now, because of Vilakazi street's popularity, it includes a couple of well known restaurants – Nambitha and Sakhumzi - that serve local cuisine to tourists, with prices to match, but it is also home to the only community television station in the city, Soweto TV, broadcast from a classroom at the local primary school.
FIRST TIME VISITOR's experience in South Africa (Bits from the Eastern Cape & Garden Route)
I had the opportunity to show bits of South Africa to a first time visitor and we visited Port Elizabeth, Addo Elephant National Park, Graaff-Reinet and Camdeboo National Park, the Garden Route (Knysna, Sedgefield and Wilderness) as well as the Langkloof.
If you had the opportunity to show off South Africa to a first time visitor, where would you go?

We visited Mzoli's Meat place in Guguletu near Cape Town. This joint in the heart of the township. It is vibrant and gives you a real township experience.
Mzoli's is a popular township tourist spot located in Guguletu, one of the oldest South African townships.
We also visited my sister's house.
Overall an awesome day.
In December of 2016 we decided to take a vacation to South Africa as a family with six of our friends. We were a group of ten. We spent the whole month touring the country. We visited Eastern Cape, Hermanus, Cape Town, Johannesburg. We stayed at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, Constantia and Bloubergstrand. We hit all the tourist spots: Table Mountain, Robben Island, Cape Point, townships of Khayelitsha and Gugulethu. In Johannesburg we went on a safari. We saw our family and friends. We had an awesome time.
I am a South African expatriate who emigrated to the United States. I make videos about my life in the United States, my experiences growing up in South Africa. I talk about fun stuff and intellectual topics. I also talk about similarities between African-American culture and African culture. In future videos I'll talk about Afrikaners as well.

Township Tour in Cape Town, by African Eagle DayTours
Township tours in Cape Town are a must for anyone wanting to discover the other side of life in Cape Town. These tours take you from the legendary District Six area, to some of Cape Town's thriving townships such as Langa and Kayalitsha. You will also have the chance to enjoy local delicacies as well as traditional dancing, healers, local schools, charismatic churches, shabeens and many other fascinating things to see and do. The people you meet on your township tour will leave you with a new understanding of the South African 'ubuntu', as they share a bit of insight into daily life in the townships of Cape Town. Some interesting history and facts about townships in the Cape include the following:
• The former residential area of District Six is one of the most famous Apartheid areas -- once a thriving neighbourhood, the area was abandoned when the Apartheid government conducted forced removals of up to 60, 000 people in the 1970s. The District Six Museum offers a colourful history into the area as it once was, as well as the Apartheid years and the area's downfall, and is a popular highlight of townships tours in Cape Town.
• Kayalitsha is the fastest growing township in the Cape, and is located on the Cape Flats along the N2 highway. The name is Xhosa for 'New Home', which was derived during its formation in the Apartheid years. Established in 1985, many residents from District Six and other areas were forcibly removed by the government and relocated to this township. Today, Kayalitsha has around has an estimated population of 406,779 residents.
• Langa is another of Cape Town's thriving townships, and was also formed in the Apartheid days after thousands of residents from other areas were forcibly relocated. The area was named after Langalibalele - a chief and renowned rainmaker who was imprisoned on Robben Island in 1873 for rebelling against the Natal government. One of the highlights on this township tour is a visit to one of the area's famous charismatic churches -- something that is sure to leave you enthralled!
Despite the tragic and often troubled history of Cape Town's townships and informal settlements, the areas still retain a strong sense of culture, with a vibrant community atmosphere and plenty of food, entertainment and enterprise. Many community arts projects can be found along the townships, with crafts such as beading, weaving, wire goods and fabric making all to be found. The ever-present local shabeens offer another side to life -- with South African beer, braais and a strong sense of community to be enjoyed. Township tours are sure to leave you with a better understanding of Cape Town's history and cultures, making these not to be missed.

Friday In Soweto- Sakhumzi *Bonus Vlog*
My afternoon spent milling around soweto.
Tasting the local food - Johannesburg - South Africa
Trying out one of the national dishes of South Africa. It was of an interesting taste and texture. Sakhumzi restaurant serves in a buffet many of the local dishes.
Is South Africa Safe
In our experience, and the experiences of so many others who have been on a tour with us, South Africa is no more nor less dangerous than most popular tourist destinations around the world.
We have been in the tourism business for over 25+ years and in all that time no one who has been our guest has had any problems whilst with us. We believe that this may be attributed to us being upstanding members of our communities we respect our neighbours and in turn they respect us back, we know and live the definition of Ubuntu.
Some have even gone as far as describing South Africans as “the friendliest, most helpful people of anywhere we’ve ever visited.”
South Africa is a reasonably wealthy, the tourism infrastructure and industry is highly functional, however poverty and inequality is rife and often these two factors may certainly breed desperation.
Many social issues plague South Africa, this has led to leading to increased unemployment and more inequality. Small time crimes have the potential of becoming problematic for travellers and this means that as guests of our country you must be wary at all times and most importantly take the necessary precautions.

Where Are You Coming From? a township tour with a twist...(eng subs)
The Film: is a short & sweet portrayal of township life through the eyes of some of its residents. . Introduced within the premise of the increasingly popular 'township tours', we are taken on a journey through the some of the informal settlements of Lavender Hill.
We are introduced to Frank, a paramedic who has recently set up his very own township tours company. Under his guidance we meander through the townships of Lavender Hill.
The Twist: Instead of tourists filling up the tour bus we are joined by a few of Lavender Hills residents; who all have their own insights on where they come from, and indeed what impetus that has on where they are going.
Together we travel through the dirt roads lined with corrugated tin dwellings & make shift tuck shops, to more formal dwellings that make up the Cape Flats. Shop owners ready themselves in the hope of cash-flush tourists, while Alesha Keys & Rihanna ring out from portable speakers on every corner.
This is the new South Africa, and the rainbow nation has opened its doors to the rest of the world in more ways than one. This film hope to portray some of the texture and life found within the township, whilst addressing the issue of poverty tourism, and the effect this environment has on its residents. Does where you come from determine where you go?
