Munich and the Foothills of the Alps
Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide | In Munich, where locals specialize in good living, we visit boisterous markets and go-for-Baroque palaces, while office workers surf in the Isar River. Heading into the foothills of the Alps, we tour the fairy-tale castles of Mad King Ludwig, and climb to the highest point in Germany atop the Zugspitze. Then we cross into Tirol to conquer a desolate ruined castle. © 2002 Rick Steves' Europe

Smarter Together Webinar on Energy Efficient Private Housing Retrofit
Webinar with Hanna Riemer, City of Munich, Münchner Gesellschaft für Stadterneuerung mbH
On 17 May at 11:30 AM, Smarter Together hosted a webinar on the topic of energy efficient private housing retrofit, and discussed the consulting activity and owners engagement that it is undergoing as part of its projects.
Several SCC projects are dealing with private residential buildings retrofit. Unlike public buildings, where funding and technical activities are generally assured by the municipalities or other institutions, the case for the private owned and multifamily buildings presents many challenges before the construction work starts. This last case comprehends frequently a difficult and uninformed decision-making process involving each flat owner to invest its own money.
Munich decided to close this information gap and start providing technical advices to private residential building flat owners, by offering Consultancy activities.
This has proven to bring countless benefits to:
-Home owners:
---Get information and rise individual awareness of owners towards the positive effects of refurbishment (energy and cost savings, healthy and comfortable indoor environment, sustainable increase in value);
---Support with technical and financing expertise due to the planning and implementing of the refurbishment works to achieve higher sufficient quality;
---Possibility of independent moderation of the decision process in case of home owners associations the.
-Local/municipal strategy and policy makers:
---Information and awareness of the local situation and local market and needs and barriers of private owners
---Gathering Knowledge to design of customized support service f.e. offers for funded consultancy and development of suitable local fund schemes
---To be able to achieve local environment agenda and given CO2 saving goals

We're Britain's First Female Rock Band. This is Why You Don't Know Us. | 'Almost Famous' by Op-Docs
It’s hard to say what, exactly, was in the water in Liverpool in the early 1960s that wound up producing the Merseybeat sound and hundreds of groups of varying success. Four teenagers caught the scene by surprise and found screaming fans at every turn. Their names were Mary, Sylvia, Pam and Val.
It wasn’t only their sound that turned heads. They were The Liverbirds, Britain’s first all-female rock ’n’ roll band. Sitting down with surviving members Mary McGlory and Sylvia Saunders, you’d never know these two exceedingly charming Scouse (that means they come from Liverpool) matriarchs rocked a tour with The Rolling Stones. Lent their instruments to The Kinks. Rolled joints for Jimi Hendrix.
John Lennon himself told them that girls don’t play guitar. Well, John, they did. Imagine that.
“Almost Famous” is a special Op-Docs series of short films directed by Ben Proudfoot featuring people who nearly made history — only to fall short. These are tales of overcoming disappointment at its most epic, from an astronaut who never flew to a superstar who never was.

Dublin and Mystical Side Trips
Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide | Dublin's story is of feast and famine — from its 18th-century Golden Age to its 20th-century struggles for independence to its boomtime today. We explore the town's foreboding castle and patriotic jail, plus Trinity College with its Book of Kells. Later we party in Temple Bar, awash in Celtic music and Guinness. We side-trip to the prehistoric necropolis of Newgrange and the medieval monastery at Glendalough, deep in the scenic Wicklow Mountains. © 2002 Rick Steves' Europe
ILLUMINATI City Bonn/Germany (3rd part) – Serenata Immortale (PHARAOH – SHOW)
Deutscher Titel:
ILLUMINATI Stadt Bonn/Deutschland (3. Teil) – „Unsterbliches Abendständchen (Serenata Immortale)“ (PHARAONEN-SHOW)
My Website / Meine Netzseite:
This is an older remaked video of June 2011. I hope you like this version, cause I made it with new signs and effects (Thanks to Arc Soft) in the background - melody made with Multi-Audio sound. Once I went through the ILLUMINATI City of Bonn/Germany and saw all these old houses of the founder time in Germany. They all were Freemasons. They formed Lions, Kings and ISIS (Goddess of Egypt) with cement against the house facades under the windows and above the doors. Look, what diabolical figures they created at these houses. Try to detect, what they formed there and what they want to say there to us. Who lived in these houses? Rich and „famous“ J**s lived in these houses in the 17th and 18th century, when they were built. The owner of the houses were a member in an freemasonic lodge in Bonn and masons as Jobs.......
In the early 1960s, an ever increasing exchange of visitors between lodges in Cologne and the British Lodges in the Rhine area led to the obvious & logical conclusion, Why not form a German-British Lodge?And so it was that a lodge with an international flair was born the Bond of Freindship. A lodge where Brethren of German and British Lodges could practice the principles of Freemasonry together. In the early years our British Brethren came from the British Army of the Rhine, the British Diplomatic service & the British companies present in the Cologne/Bonn region. With the draw down of the military & the move of the Federal capital from Bonn to Berlin many of our British Brethren had to take their leave. Luckily international commerce has meant that the number of resident Britain's has once again risen.
Today the majority of our Brethren are German nationals – often with personal connections to Great Britain – or citizens of other countries, not necessarily English speaking ones. Bond of Freindship may have started off as a German/British concept, but its membership today comes from many lands. Brethren of six different nationalities have served as Master of the Lodge, and our current members are from at least nine different countries. This truly shows the universality of Freemasonry - and of the Bond of Friendship Lodge. The opportunity to meet Brethren from all over the world with differing cultures & lifestyles ensures that the work in a British lodge is also interesting for German Brethren. The special, warm hearted, liberal & practical concept of British Freemasonry forms the culture & style of our lodge. The ritual which we practice Emulation which has remained practically unchanged since its inception, offers an insight into the very roots of Freemasonry.
Freemasonry means different things to each of those who join. For some, it’s about making new friends and acquaintances. For others it’s about being able to help deserving causes – making a contribution to family and society. But for most, it is an enjoyable hobby. Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest and largest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable organisation. It teaches self-knowledge through participation in a progression of ceremonies. Members are expected to be of high moral standing and are encouraged to speak openly about Freemasonry. The following information is intended to explain Freemasonry as it is practised under the United Grand Lodge of England, which administers Lodges of Freemasons in England and Wales and in many places overseas. Freemasonry is a society of men concerned with moral and spiritual values. Its members are taught its principles (moral lessons and self-knowledge) by a series of ritual dramas - a progression of allegorical two-part plays which are learnt by heart and performed within each Lodge - which follow ancient forms, and use stonemasons’ customs and tools as allegorical guides. Freemasonry instils in its members a moral and ethical approach to life: its values are based on integrity, kindness, honesty and fairness. Members are urged to regard the interests of the family as paramount but, importantly, Freemasonry also teaches and practices concern for people, care for the less fortunate and help for those in need.

Barcelona and Catalunya
The creative spirit of Spain's Catalunya — the land of Picasso, Gaudí, and Salvador Dalí — is on a roll. We'll get caught up in the festivity of Barcelona, enjoying the vibrant street scenes, tasty tapas, and pedestrian-friendly Gothic Quarter. Then we'll take a scenic side trip to mountaintop Montserrat, and finish with an artist's pilgrimage along the Costa Brava to Salvador Dalí country. In seaside Cadaques, we'll visit Dalí's home, and in nearby Figueres, we'll experience his playfully surreal mausoleum/museum.
