Jaipur has a lot of tourist attractions for tourists where people flock not only from India but also from across the world. The famous tourist places in Jaipur are Hawa Mahal, Forts, Chowki Dhani among others. Complete list of Jaipur Attractions is provided below.
Jaipur, famously called the Pink City of India was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh in the eighteenth century. The place has derived its sobriquet because of the coloured buildings it has in the centre of the city which were painted symbolising the red sandstone architecture of the Mughal Empire.
Nowadays, the city is growing at a fast rate in the fields of infrastructure. With so many enterprises been opened up, this place is coming up in terms of development as compared to many other cities in India.
List of Tourist Places to See in Jaipur:
1.Amer Fort
This magnificent fort is built in Hindu- Muslim style is a great example of Rajputana architecture. This huge palace complex is now one of the six forts of Rajasthan which come under the UNESCO world heritage sites. There are various sections to see like the Sheesh Mahal, Rajasthan Kala Mandir, Maota Lake, Sukh Niwas, Diwaan-e-Khaas and many more. The fort is situated on a hill and thus there are various elephant rides taking tourists up to the top.
2.Jantar Mantar
Considered to be one of the largest astronomical observatories among the five built by Maharaja Jai Singh is a UNESCO world heritage site. It has fourteen geometric devices commonly called as the Yantras in Hindi. These devices measure the time, track stars in their orbits, predict eclipses and also determine various celestial altitudes. The most famous being the Samrat Yantra, which is the largest sundial instrument in the world.
3.Hawa Mahal
Commonly called as the Palace of Winds, was built for the ladies of the royal family so that they can view the events on the streets without being noticed by anybody. It is a five-storey building which is built in red sandstone with around 950 windows. These windows help in circulating fresh air into the palace.

Beginning in Delhi, visitors will gape at Mughal-era architecture and history, from ancient forts to incredible monuments to high-tech skyscrapers and shopping centres. Next, venture to Agra, the storied city home to India’s powerful nobility. One of the most famous buildings in the world, the Taj Mahal, can be found here, welcoming millions of visitors a year. Depending on the time of day you visit, you may discover it tinged pink with the rising sun, or beautiful gold under the moon. You can also stop at other incredible sites leftover from the Mughal empire, such as the Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri.
Finally, end your trip to the Golden Triangle with a visit to Jaipur, or “The Pink City.” Here, you’ll find incredible buildings built with pink sandstone, giving the city an ethereal quality you won’t soon forget. Take a stroll through one of the many traditional shops, and find the perfect antique or handmade souvenir to bring home with you.

1 City Palace -
The ‘City Palace’ is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Jaipur, located in the heart of the city. Dating back to the 19th century, the palace was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. Showcasing a unique combination of Rajput, Mughal and European styles of architecture with an array of courtyards, gardens and special structures built inside the palace complex, the City Palace gives you a deep insight into the excellent architectural skills of the designers and engineers of the bygone era.
2 Hawa Mahal -
One of the most prominent landmarks of the pink city, ‘Hawa Mahal’ is located very near to the ‘City Palace’. Rajput customs used to be very stringent for the royal ladies in the past. Ladies were bound by a strict ‘Purdah System’ and were not allowed to go in public and interact with strangers.
3 Albert Hall Museum - Acclaimed to be the oldest museum of Rajasthan, the ‘Albert Hall Museum’ is located inside the ‘Ram Niwas Garden’ and was opened to public in the year 1887. Foundation stone of the museum was laid in 1876 by the then
4 - Jaipur Zoo - Located at a walking distance from the ‘Albert Hall Museum’ in Jaipur, the ‘Jaipur Zoo’ also known as the ‘Zoological Garden’, is a famous tourist attraction, especially amongst kids. Spread across a sprawling area of 33 acres, the Zoo was established under the rule of Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II in 1877.
5 - Jal Mahal - Also known as the ‘Water Palace’, ‘Jal Mahal’ is situated right in the heart of the ‘Man Sagar Lake’, flanked by the majestic Nahargarh Hills. Unique location and charming beauty of the palace makes it one of the best photographic sites in Jaipur. Originally, believed to be built by Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh some 300 years back, as a lodge for his duck hunting parties, the palace was renovated by his son later on to beautify its exteriors with courtyards and gardens built in typical Mughal style.
6 - Amer Fort - Located in Amer town, at a distance of 11 km. from Jaipur, the ‘Amer Fort’ is one of the most impressive forts of Rajasthan and is visited by an umpteen number of tourists every year. Overlooking the beautiful Maota Lake, the fort is a masterpiece of the Rajputana architecture. Built by Raja Man Singh I in 16thcentury.
7 - Jaigarh Fort - Overlooking the ‘Amber Fort’ and ‘Maota Lake’, the ‘Jaigarh Fort’ stands tall atop the ‘Cheel Ka Teela’ hill in the Aravali range. Built in the 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II as a shield to protect Amber Fort and Jaipur city from attack of invaders, the magnificent structure of the fort boasts of the opulence of the Rajput rulers. Owing to the fact that the fort never witnessed any defeat, it also came to be called as the ‘Fort of Victory’.
8 Nahargarh Fort :- Overlooking the city of Jaipur, ‘Nahargarh Fort’ is another imposing structure of Jaipur. The scenic Aravali hills serve as a perfect backdrop for this impressive fort. The famous ‘Masti ki Pathshala’ song from the Bollywood movie, ‘Rang De Basanti’, shot at a baori of this fort, has made this place even more popular amongst tourists.
Major attraction inside the fort is the ‘Madhavendra Bhavan’ that speaks volumes of the Rajput taste for exquisite artwork and craftsmanship.
9 Kanak Vrindavan :- Also popularly known as the ‘Kanak Ghati’ amongst the locals, ‘Kanak Vrindavan’ is a beautiful garden built in a picturesque valley surrounded by the hills of the Aravali range. Located at a distance of 8 km. from Jaipur towards Amber Fort, the garden complex was built on the orders of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh, some 275 years back.
10 Birla Mandir :- Located at the foot of the ‘Moti Dungari’ hill in Jaipur, ‘Birla Mandir’ is a great piece of beauty and splendour. Built by the famous industrialist family of Birlas in 1988, the name of the temple is prefixed with the word ‘Birla’. Dedicated to Goddess Laxmi and Lord Vishnu, the temple is also popularly referred to as ‘Laxmi Narayan Temple’.
