Nikki has a very short Bahamas Bucket list and seeing the underwater sculpture garden is on the top of it. Specifically she wants to see Atlas, the worlds largest underwater sculpture (worlds largest for now).
We're anchoring at JAWS beach in the West Bay of New Providence island. This island is the most populated island of all of the Bahamas so of course we'll have to re-provision before heading off. We've heard about this fresh grocery store in Nassau and we have to visit. We meet a couple new friends, do some snorkeling and have an all around jam packed 3 days before a big blow comes to push us out of paradise...but I guess that's life on the water.

Jaws Beach, Nassau Bahamas
Jaws Beach, as the locals call it, is a treasure on Nassau and a great place to unwind, relax, snorkel and just be. Oh and the reason why its called Jaws beach is because parts of Jaws 4: The Revenge was shot there in 87.

FLIPPER BEACH TO JAWS BEACH ON JET SKI (BAHAMAS)
Flipper beach is a remote beach in between Clifton Pier and Clifton Bay only accessible by water. Clifton Pier is where many of the underwater scenes from the James Bond film Thunderball was filmed. Call Demaro Demeritte for jet skis while in the bahamas on New Providence Island. He's a really nice guy and always gives me a good deal when I'm in town. I don't get a penny for referring him and he doesn't know I'm doing this. 242-422-6086

Our family is in Florida on vacation. We have been swimming in the ocean all week. We've seen some turtles and dolphins and even some jellyfish. But today there was a GIANT hammerhead shark in the ocean that they pulled on the beach. It as a real hammerhead shark. Did anyone get bit by the shark? Find out.

Here we see the raw talent of Spielberg before he got famous. This is when he did his best work.
Several things to note: tuned out conversations (which was a hallmark of his fellow director, Coppola), camera angles, use of the camera dolly to convey surprise and the use of the telephoto lens, using tricks to set up the audience, using passersby to create transitions between frames, imagery to convey a message among a backdrop of ordinary Americana on a nice day at the beach. We see this type of scene setup again in Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
