Leeds shopping guide 2019 (Things to do in Leeds)
Explore Leeds's most popular shopping locations with this virtual tour around the city. With numerous shopping streets, centres and arcades it is easy for first time visitors to the city to feel overwhelmed. Where should I go first? How far is it from here to there? Should I get the bus with my shopping or can I walk?
I've mapped out an easy route around the city, taking into consideration the likelihood that you'll be increasing your haul along the journey.
This video guides you along a route which prioritises up hill walking first, allowing an easier walk later whilst you have more bags. The route also includes a couple of rest areas for drinks and snacks, and saves the more popular shopping locations (where you're more likely to make purchases) for towards the end of the day when you won't have as far to carry everything.

An RAF veteran who died with no close friends or relatives has been given a fitting and poignant send-off, after an online campaign saw hundreds of people attend his funeral, which was itself marked by the Dambusters theme being played as his coffin was carried into the chapel. Up to 300 people attended the funeral of Harold Jellicoe Percival, who died last month aged 99, after a heartfelt plea from funeral directors. Mr Percival lived a particularly 'private and nomadic' life, his nephew said, meaning he died with no spouse nor children and it was initially thought no family were able to attend.Poignantly, his funeral directors arranged to have the service on Remembrance Day at 11am to mark his service in RAF Bomber Command as ground crew during the Dambusters raid. The order of service for the funeral included prayers and an address from the reverend, as well as a committal and blessing.

Speaking after the service, Mr Percival's nephew Andre Collyer-Worsell, said: 'It's just staggering. It just shows how great the British public are. We were expecting a few people, a few local veterans but suddenly it snowballed. It's the sort of send-off you would want to give any loved one. It's very emotional.'
Mr Percival died peacefully in a nursing home, and Edmund Jacobs, the funeral director, said: 'I didn't fancy the idea of an old serviceman going out on his last journey without any support.'A subsequent advert in a local newspaper to ask for attendees to his funeral encouraged many to go after it was highlighted by thousands of people on social media.Funeral directors have asked donations to be made to the RAF Benevolent Fund, benefactors of which will also attend the service.Other attendees included Royal British Legion bikers and members of the Royal Air Force Association. The funeral is being held at Lytham Park Crematorium on Regent Avenue in St Annes, near Blackpool.

Victoria Gate is one half of Victoria Leeds; a beautiful shopping district, recognised as one the premium shopping destinations in the North of England.
The award-winning Victoria Gate opened in October 2016 and is a modern interpretation of Victoria Quarter, paying homage to the surrounding architecture. Victoria Gate brings together brands such as Anthropologie, The White Company and Aspinal of London, in addition to being home to the largest John Lewis store outside London.
Artform were asked to supply a mixture of street furniture items to the prestigious city centre development, with the initial specification being produced by ACME Architects, London but the majority of the dialogue and final decision was directly with the client's project management team.
Samples of all materials and finishes were supplied, to ensure that the client and team were comfortable with the final proposal and furniture elements.
The products specified were the Parc Vue seats, with and without armrests, the Loop cycle stands and the Spencer litter bins, plus in this instance, Artform also provided a full supply and installation service on this project.
The traditional seating and cycle stand designs were pivotal in the selection process, ensuring that they integrated with the timeless character of Victoria Gate. The distinctive diamond shaped latticework covering the roof of the complex is echoed in the Parc Vue seat and the Loop cycle stand, making them the perfect addition to complement this impressive architectural structure.
The result has encouraged bicycle use and reduced congestion, offering a space for visitors to rest and contemplate, without compromising on the aesthetics of the surrounding structure.
