Kaikondrahalli lake, Sarjapur road, Bengaluru
A pleasant evening walk at an urban lake of Bengaluru in Kaikondrahalli, Sarjapur road. The lake is spread over 48 acres with walking and cycling tracks around the lake. Serene, beautiful and well maintained. Though it is situated in the city, plenty of lush greenery and birds were a feast to our eyes.

97000 lakes/ponds needed to Bangalore town
Basrur is an old historic city of Kundapura taluk. About 5-6 centuries back itself, when that city was formed, 7 lakes or ponds were constructed. There would have about 1000 citizens when city was formed. For that 1000 citizens, then king built 7 lakes. They then itself knew the importance of lakes. Their concern was not to allow all rain water to get flowed to sea and it should be sunk in the land to improvise ground water level by which water scarcity does not arise. When compared with population and number of lakes/ponds held in then Basrur city, there should be 97000 lakes/ponds in Bengaluru city. In our Kota hobly, there are more than 300 ponds/lakes. But most of them are dry in this summer as they were filled with sand. So many big lakes are also held out of which 6 lakes are being renovated by public without the help of government to store more and more water in such lakes to improvise ground water level. See the story of their sacrifice.
People of olden days were not at all unqualified. They were well knowing the importance of Water Ponds.
