Guandi Miao, a temple which enshrines Guan Yu 関帝廟 1
Where there is a China town, there is a Chinese temple. Sometimes, it's Confucianism, sometimes it's Taoism, and at other times, it enshrines Mazu, a Chinese sea goddess. After his death, Guan Yu came to be enshrined as a god, as is often the case with Chinese famous historic figures. Those gods are believed to belong to Taoism, so the temple is a Taoism temple.
At the end of the Tokugawa Shogunate Era, the Kobe Port was opened to the outside world in 1867. Since then, Kobe has had various colonies to have various shrines and temples of different religions. If you want to visit those shrines and temples, you should either start from Sannomiya Station, visit the Cathedral Church of St. Michael first, and move counterclockwise, or should start from Hanakuma Station, visit Guandi Miao first, and go clockwise. I started from Hanakuma, walked up the hill, and visited Guandi Miao, the Cathedral Church of St. Michael (the Anglican Communion), Kobe Eiko Church (United Church of Christ), Kobe Muslim Mosque (Islam), Jewish Community of Kansai (Judaism Synagogue), Bhagwan Mahavirswami Jain Temple (Jainism Temple), Kobe Baptist Church, Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit, and Dormition Orthodox Church in Kobe (Greek Orthodox Church or Eastern Orthodoxy).

Yokohama Chinatown
Here we are in Yokohama, the first port city in Japan that opened its door to foreign trade. From the opening of the port to trade, foreign influences were actively absorbed. Chinese culture has an important position in the city of Yokohama and its Chinatown is the largest in Asia.Yokohama established itself as an international trade hub at an early time. In 1859, Chinese people started to serve as a medium between the trading companies and banks from the West and the Japanese locals. Due to the similarity of kanji and Chinese writing, these Chinese traders were able to act as go-betweens between the locals and Westerners and became key to East-West interaction. Over time, the number of Chinese immigrants increased and formed an immigrant community in the city of Yokohama. The yearning for home was reflected in the style of the architecture in the Chinese immigrant community and the most prominent feature was the traditional Chinese archways. The decorations of the archways adopt the colors of five elements and Chinese deities, providing spiritual support that made a foreign place a new home. For those seeking religious support, the Kwan Tai Temple in Chinatown played a central role as their belief center. Next to the Kwan Tai Temple, we have the first Chinese school in Japan. Not far from here is the Mazu Temple. Keeping a close relation to its counterparts in Taiwan, the Mazu Temple has continuously provided spiritual guidance to these Chinese immigrants since its establishment.Yokohama Chinatown has served as a cultural gateway to connect the Chinese community to the world. It has also contributed to the preservation of Chinese heritage.

横浜中華街の春節の獅子舞です
Yokohama CHINATOWN [with food bonus and Chinese temples]
Italian version:
Yokohama Chukagai (横浜中華街) or Yokohama Chinatown is the biggest in Japan and among the biggest in Asia. From Tokyo Shibuya stn is possible to reach Yokohama Chinatown in about 30min. Chinatown is full of restaurants, eateries, food stalls, shops , antique shops, souvenir shops but it is best known for its food. You can eat in a fine restaurant or take something from a stall. There are many things to try. My suggestions are: Age UFO and Harinezumi man....but take a walk and find yourself what you like best!!
In Yokohama Chinatown there are two famous temples: Konkibyo Temple, built in 1873), dedicated to the Chinese deity of good business and prosperity and Masobyo Temple, built in 2006, which is a Taoist Temple.

Yokohama Chinatown is one of the most popular spots in Yokohama, Japan (less than an hour away from central Tokyo). Its history is about 150 years long.
Today only a few Chinese people still live in Chinatown, but it has a population of about 3,000 to 4,000. Most of the residents are from Guangzhou (Canton) but many come from other regions.
Yokohama Chinatown is the largest Chinatown not only in Japan but also in Asia (larger than Chinatowns in both Kobe and Nagasaki) and it is one of the largest in the world.
There are roughly 250 Chinese-owned/themed shops and restaurants scattered throughout the district, with the highest concentration centred on a 300 square meter area.
Chinatown can be reached by train, bus, sea-bus and car. The nearest train station is Motomachi-Chukagai on the Minatomirai Line, opened on February 1, 2004.
