Easter Kayaking & Fishing at St. Lucie Inlet State Park
Kayaking and fishing at St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park. Fishing St Lucie Inlet and Hole in the Wall on the Indian River Lagoon/Atlantic Ocean on Florida's Treasure Coast.
I landed 2 snook, 1 crevalle jack, 1 hardhead catfish, and missed a big redfish that broke my line. Overall it was fair fishing and a great day of exploring!

Caught a Redfish. Kayak and Paddle Boarding with Oceana, and Wifey Fort Pierce, FL
Explicit Language when I caught the fish. Sorry but it happens occasionally. Spent some time on the water with the wife and our baby on the way, Oceana. Had great weather, and clear waters. Started from Stan Blum Boat Ramp and paddled to Fort Pierce State park. Fished the mangroves looking for Snook, and Redfish. Found a nice 20 inch fish to take home for a taco dinner. This is probably the 10th redfish I have ever caught living down here in the Treasure Coast for the last few years. I catch more Redfish where I am from up in Daytona Beach.
Kayaking at White City Park
Kayaking at White City Park, which is located in White City, Port St. Lucie, FL.
This central location provides accessibility to some of Gulf County's best freshwater fishing, and has been the host to numerous bass fishing tournaments.
Picnic tables, playground equipment, a basketball court and an excellent boat launch ramp make this a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike.
Clear kayaking the Indian River Lagoon and lunch at Little Jim's Bait and Tackle with Visit St Lucie
This is Jim Island on north causeway in Fort Pierce Florida. As you can see it has a dedicated kayak launch across from Stan Blum boat ramp where we did a dolphin tour in a prior video.
The weather today is beautiful and we are excited to get out on the water. This is our first time kayaking in the ocean as a family and the kids are looking forward to the trip
You never know what you are going to see when in the Indian River Lagoon. This is an Osprey which is a large raptor that eats fish.
There are dozens of spoil islands in the Indian River Lagoon that were remnants of the dredging done historically. These islands have become covered in foliage and habitats to many different species. Many of them have picnic tables, grills, benches and each is different so it’s great to explore. They are only accessible by water.
The kids are exploring the island while my husband works on his small unmanned aircraft. This is such a great place to take a break in the shade. This island has a firepit and a bench and a colony of crabs!
Because of the sheer amount of options you have in direction and islands to visit it is totally fine to just wander and see what appeals to you. The Indian River Lagoon is one of the most biodiverse estuaries in the Northern Hemisphere and is home to more than 4,300 species of plants and animals. It goes all the way back to glacial periods. Before it became the lagoon we are familiar with now it was grassland that was 30 miles from the ocean. When the glaciers melted the sea rode and the lagoon is all captured water.
In Florida and especially on the water you want to make sure you are protected from the UV rays, especially the kids. We have on an spf 50 on the kids and it’s best to bring it with you so that you can reapply as needed. Stay safe and enjoy those rays!
As we approach the shore we are greeted by large pelicans overlooking from the dock posts. We love pelicans and they can be native to Florida so are something you can see on your kayak trip!
We’ve really enjoyed this trip in clear kayaks around the Indian River Lagoon. We saw some amazing birds, fish, and cannot wait to come back and see what’s next. There are so many animals in this estuary that each trip is unique and holds endless promise. Now that we are back on land we are super hungry so we are going to check out Little Jim Bait and Tackle. This has been here for years and all the locals recommend it. It’s decorated in a seaside shack style but plenty of covered tables. It’s a fun festive dining option that is dockside.
The menu has plenty of options, from the clam chowder to deli sandwiches and fresh seafood. Steven opted for the blackened shrimp po boy, I chose a Cuban sandwich and the kids went for a cheeseburger with extra pickles.
We had a delicious meal and it is time to return the clear kayaks. Thank you Visitstlucie for showing us the best things to do in this beautiful county. Don’t forget to hashtag visitstlucie with your favorite vacation shots and check out the clear kayaks for your own family adventure! This will be an experience we will be thinking about for a long time! Bye bye for now!

Indian River Lagoon Kayaking
The Indian River Lagoon is a vital estuary along the east coast of Florida. On New Year’s Day 2017, we decided to Kayak within the southern portion of the lagoon and enjoy some of the natural beauty. This video was made in the Hobe Sound region including the shoreline of Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge. Along the way, I provide some commentary on this incredibly important natural resource.

Kayaking Ocala, Florida - Juniper Springs.wmv
Kayak Florida: Juniper Springs launch point in Ocala National Forest. Lots of debris due a few storms earlier that month, so there was a lot of congestion and several blocked passages around which we had to maneuver. But all in all - a gorgeous day in the beautiful outdoors with friends!
RV Travel Camping // Great Place to Visit // Fort Pierce, FL // Sunrise City
Some of South Florida's best offerings come from places you've probably never even heard of. Fort Pierce is one of those areas. Just a little north of West Palm Beach, and South of Cape Canaveral, Fort Pierce was and still is a sleepy fishing village for the most part. The city has really stepped up it's game in recent years to blend old with new and as we show here in this video, I think they are successful.
Fort Pierce has museums, charter fishing, great beaches, awesome restaurants that you can't find anywhere else, and a blended, diverse population. If you like Surfing, kayaking, or just wading to fish, Fort Pierce is your place to go. Surrounded by other small towns just like it, you're sure to find something interesting to do.
We enjoyed bringing you our home. Although we have moved away from here, we still know and love the town and keep up with friends from as early as elementary school. We welcome you to go to Fort Pierce and see for yourselves. ????????
