UK GENERAL ELECTION 2017 - BRIGHTON KEMP TOWN CONSTITUENCY DECLARATION
A snap general election called by the Conservative Prime Minister was held on June 8th 2017.
Eighth Tower Productions was there to film the count and declarations down in Brighton at Hove for the-news.co.
Due to the high level of media interest this year, due to Caroline Lucas (the UKs only Green MP) and Peter Kyle (the only Labour MP in the South East), the count was held at the larger AMEX football stadium in Falmer, rather than the usual Brighton Center.

Simon Kirby (Conservative) lost his seat to Brighton Labour Councilor Lloyd Russell-Moyle.

Emily Tester (Liberal Democrats) - 1457 votes ( 3%)

One of the king's passions was food and the most elaborate banquets were held here in the banqueting room where the French chef Marie Antoine Karen created menus with as many as sixty dishes. Later in 1845 Queen Victoria was not so amused and she sold the Pavilion to the city for just £50 but its hard to imagine anywhere else where it would feel so at home. For many it sums up the city vibrant colourful and creative, this is Brighton.

The last of three debates organised by Sussex Defend the NHS with candidates standing for election in the constituency of Kemptown, Brighton. Candidates invited were: Paul Chandler (Lib Dems), Davy Jones (Greens), Simon Kirby (Conservative) and Nancy Platts (Labour). Simon Kirby declined the invitation.
