Mission to Inner Space - Full Episode
They call it “inner space.” It’s an inhospitable environment that’s difficult to explore and unfit for human habitation. Nevertheless, scientists have figured out ways to live and work on the ocean floor.
The Aquarius Undersea Laboratory is the only underwater operating station in the world today. Located inside the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, at 60 feet below the ocean’s surface, this unique facility provides researchers around the clock access to the nearby coral reef. Known as “America’s Inner Space Station,” the Aquarius Reef Base becomes home to a select few as they spend 10 straight days underwater. During this specific mission, a team of ‘Aquanauts,’ or saturation divers, studies the local effects of a global problem, ocean acidification.
Ocean acidification is caused by a change in the water’s chemistry. Increased levels of CO2 in the water are causing lowered pH levels, making it potentially more difficult for organisms like corals to form their calcium carbonate skeletons. This Aquarius mission is unique, in that it is the first ocean acidification study during which aquanauts conduct various experiments and take continuous measurements while living out on a coral reef. What will their findings tell us?

4647 Pine Tree Drive Miami Beach, FL -- Lifestyle Production Group
World-renowned architect Kobi Karp's translation of luxury tropical modernism boasts Pine Tree Drive's only direct ocean view estate. The ingenious, elevated design inspired by Le Corbusier, coupled with nearly 44,000-square-feet of wide-open land along Indian Creek Waterway, creates a unique oasis to capture coastal breezes. Whether a private retreat or a magical setting to entertain, this ultra chic residence, set back from the street by a dramatic entryway drive, serves multiple purposes. Its smart architectural layout and thoughtful details feel like you're living in a functional work of art. The spiral staircase is a major focal point, modeled after the Guggenheim Museum, it doubles as a dramatic sculpture leading to a rooftop with 360-degree views to practice yoga or watch the sunset over the treetops and Miami's phenomenal skyline. The expansive interior's white walls are an art collector's dream while the indoor/outdoor flow is seamlessly felt through the telescoping doors that slide effortlessly into each other for a clean modern look. Floor to ceiling windows provide incredible natural light from every room bringing the impressive landscape and water views indoors. The detached guesthouse, fitness center and second floor pool with lounge area further enhance its allure, making it the ultimate private enclave. Upon entering the drive, more wow factors await as multiple, detached interior spaces including 8 bedrooms, 8.5 baths and a cinema, as well as a lush wonderland of exterior living vignettes, koi ponds, gardens and a waterfront basketball half-court slowly reveal themselves. The 13,178-square-foot residence earns its name, The Levitating Geometry, because it sits off the ground between 2 to 4 feet and features multiple horizontal and vertical planes for an exquisite study in minimalism. Karp's innovative vision results in a true masterpiece, a sanctuary that's incredibly rare for Miami Beach. The owners have spent the last four years perfecting every inch of the home for a turnkey experience like no other.

Underwater Music Festival Spotlights Keys Coral Reef and Quirky Costumed Divers
Eel-vis Presley, Bob Marlin and other rock-and-roll legends performed beneath the sea in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary Saturday during the Lower Keys Underwater Music Festival.
The quirky concert, which attracted more than 500 divers and snorkelers to the continental United States' only living coral barrier reef, offered an offbeat salute to rock with divers costumed as Presley, reggae icon Marley and other famed musicians.
Their undersea jam session featured fishy instruments such as a clambourine and wahoo kazoo sculpted by a Lower Keys artist.
Staged by a Keys radio station, the event took place at Looe Key Reef, an area of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary approximately six miles south of Big Pine Key.
Music was broadcast underwater via speakers suspended beneath boats positioned at the reef. The playlist included ocean--themed offerings such as the Beatles' Yellow Submarine, Jimmy Buffett's Fins and Donovan's Atlantis.
The fish seemed to enjoy the music as much as I did, said snorkeler and first-time festival participant Gail Coad of Sarasota, Fla. They almost were dancing in unison to the melody, and the music just kind of surrounds you.
Samantha Langsdale of Key West, Fla., who wore a bright green mermaid costume, said she made some undersea friends during the festival.
I believe that the parrotfish family has accepted me, said Langsdale. We have similar colors.
As well as being a one-of-a-kind event for divers and snorkelers, the Underwater Music Festival included diver awareness messages promoting preservation of the Keys' unique coral reef ecosystem.
We have a lot of fun, we dress up in costumes, but there's a serious side, said festival director Bill Becker. Coral reef conservation is the message.

John Pennekamp Coral Reef (unedited) raw footage no music
Established in 1963, John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park was the first undersea park in the United States. John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, and the adjacent Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, cover approximately 178 nautical square miles of coral reefs, seagrass beds and mangrove swamps. The park extends 3 miles into the Atlantic Ocean and is approximately 25 miles in length. These areas were established to protect and preserve a portion of the only living coral reef in the continental United States. The park was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 14, 1972.
The park named for the late John D. Pennekamp, a Miami newspaper editor, whose efforts contributed to the establishments of Everglades National Park and the preservation of what would become John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park.
The park contains a wide variety of tropical vegetation, shore birds and marine life. While the mangrove swamps and tropical hammocks offer visitors a unique and interesting experience, it is the coral formations and associated marine life that most park visitors come to enjoy. The coral reef at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park are among the most beautiful and diverse of all living communities.

I had my first experience in meditation while I was a student in Cambridge, UK. It was so powerful that it changed my whole conception of music, from its creation to finding new ways of listening and being exposed to the experience and perception of sound. Sound on its own, away from the aesthetic concept.
An equally important influence in my music is the use of the Golden Ratio (Fibonacci sequence) as the basis for the organic structure of my work. Soon I discovered the powerful effect of the spiral proportion on the brain and its ability to induce alpha waves, which we know as the blissful state of meditation.
The concept of Soundscape Architecture was developed as a meditation on sound vibrating in harmony with its own space, and PRIVATE MUSIC was born with the desire of making a composition as unavailable as a work of art can be when is owned by a single person.

“@ Zaha's place a composition put together by Eduardo Marturet, transported my awareness to a level I have never experienced before. I was paintings an abstract for an exhibition when my husband put the music on. My feelings arose like waves each dancing to its own strength; reaching various heights but all returning to my heart in a rhythm perfectly balanced and marvellously beautiful. “@ Zaha's Place” is a precious gift. It carries the strength to mend a broken heart. It knows how to bring the body and soul in harmony. But it does more than that. It connects the outer world with the inner world and paves way for us to experience the true nature of our being “Joy

Very quickly, my bewilderment about the technical skillfulness and overall intelligence with which the piece was composed was overpowered by its overwhelming beauty. All I could do was to let myself go, listen, and enjoy. A sonic out of body experience.”

Private Music @Zaha's Place, by Maestro Eduardo Marturet, is a journey of non invasive however permeable sounds, like gentle breeze swinging bells from a temple as ancient as the soul itself, that through calmness into positive feelings, creates an atmosphere of self confidence and focused thoughts.
Luke Grande
Singer
This music has a really magical aspect and I have even used it to let the stereo playing in loop just to clear the air and bring good vibes.
