Khao Yai Thailand. Wildlife photography.
This episode is about my recent trip to Khao Yai national park in the beautiful thailand. This place is a haven for wildlife photographers. I travel very light, Not even with a tripod. So as you can see alot of these shots are ISO heavy. But thats the way I like it. Just the camera and my feet, good to go. Hope you enjoy this amazing sight to see in Thailand. I can not wait to get back there again. Have you been to Khao Yai? Do you know the names of any of the birds? case I do not, well I know the Hornbill but thats it.

Wildlife Safari Thailand Khao Yai National Park Gibbons Monkeys and Hornbills
The first part of my wildlife safari tour to Khao Yai National Park.in which we saw hornbills (Great Hornbill and Oriental Pied Hornbill), gibbons (White-handed Gibbon), and macaque monkeys. We also went to Thamsilong Cave Temple and saw millions of bats emerge out of a bat cave which was amazing. Khao National Park is a place that not as many tourists go to compared to other places in Thailand. II is an absolutely amazing place, with some of the best nature in Thailand, and probably the best place to see wildlife in Thailand and maybe in all of southeast Asia. My guide Ghaan was excellent, she was very knowledgeable and great at spotting wildlife.
The best place to stay at night while doing a day tour in Khao Yai is Pak Chong, an authentic town near the park. The tour company that I booked was Tontan Tours.

Khao Yai National Park in Thailand
Khao Yai is the second largest National Park in Thailand. Established in 1962, Khao Yai was Thailand's first national park. In 2005, the area along with the surrounding Dong Phaya Yen mountains was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Tropical moist evergreen forest covers the central area of Khao Yai National Park. The rich diversity of plants (about 2,000 species) astound the new-comer. Towering trees draped in mosses, climbers and epiphytes, tangled trunks of the strangling figs, drooping lianas and spiny rattan palms, delicate ferns, multicoloured lichens and an ever-changing array of fungi. There is aways something new to discover in the forest.
Khao Yai National Park covers an area of 2,168 square kilometers, its altitude mostly ranges from 400 to 1000 meters above sea level. There are over 50km of hiking trails. From easy to hard, one hour to three days. There are 320 species of birds like red junglefowl and green peafowl and 67 species of mammals, including Asiatic black bear, Asian elephant, gaur, tiger, gibbon, Indian sambar deer, pig-tailed macaque, Indian muntjac, dhole, and wild pig.
The Haew Narok waterfalls are the largest waterfalls in the park. It is a three tiered structure that extends 150 meters from the top tier to the basal lake. The Haew Suwat Waterfalls runs over a 20 meter cliff into a large pool below.
Recent wildlife studies show that animal ranges, particularly the few resident tigers, are impacted by human activity near the center of the park.
