The King Alfred deal has collapsed...here's how it should be done...
I'm calling for local resident input on how a new leisure centre should be built in Hove. Where should it go? Do we want a 50m pool? And what about all that housing?
Please feel free to contact me regarding this or any other local issues.

A computer-generated video starts.
We enter the main reception area. Visitors are sitting down and looking through a window into the swimming pool area.
We navigate past the yellow reception desk and through the glass entry gates.
Children play in the leisure pool with various slides. Shower facilities are shown on the side of the pool.
The teaching pool is shown next to the leisure pool.
After the teaching pool, we move into the 8-lane competition swimming pool, with spectator seating.
Groups of young adults are playing basketball in the sports hall. The hall overlooks the sea.
We then navigate into the centre's gym. People are seen doing press-ups and stretches on the mats. Other people are on elliptical trainers and treadmills looking towards the sea through the large glass windows.
In a separate room, young children are learning martial arts on yellow mats.
Doors open into the centre's studio where ballet dancers are practicing. One side has floor to ceiling mirrors, while the opposite side's windows look over the public space.
In the gymnastics hall, spectators sit on a bench on a mezzanine level. On the lower level, young people are training on various gymnastics equipment.
Briefly, a gymnast runs towards a vault and jumps. The video fades to white.
We return to an open space inside of the centre. Large windows reveal the outside where several trees are planted.
We navigate through the centre, briefly showing a soft play area. In the following room, there is a large café with seating overlooking the sea.
The computer-generated video ends.
A person stands on the pebble beach of Brighton & Hove, looking towards the sea.
The words 'Crest Nicholson & The Starr Trust' appear.

Places to see in ( Steyning - UK )
Steyning is a small rural town and civil parish in the Horsham District of West Sussex, England. It is located at the north end of the River Adur gap in the South Downs, four miles north of Shoreham-by-Sea. The smaller villages of Bramber and Upper Beeding constitute, with Steyning, a built-up area at this crossing-point of the river.
Steyning has existed since Anglo-Saxon times. Legend has it that St. Cuthman built a church, at one time dedicated to him, later to St Andrew, and now jointly to St Andrew and St Cuthman, where he stopped after carrying his mother in a wheelbarrow. Several of the signs that can be seen on entering Steyning bear an image of his feat. King Alfred the Great's father, Ethelwulf of Wessex, was originally buried in that church, before being transferred to Winchester – a Saxon grave slab (possibly his) remains in the church porch.
The Steyning Line railway from London to Shoreham arrived in Steyning in 1861 and a station was opened to serve the town, see the black line and station in the map displayed. Steyning Town Hall, (currently an estate agents) at 38 High Street, was built in 1886.
The legendary Irish politician Charles Stewart Parnell married 'Kitty' O'Shea (niece of Lord Hatherley) here in 1891, the culmination of the affair that saw his fall from power, catastrophically dividing Irish politics. In Steyning there is access to a variety of facilities including four public houses, the award-winning Steyning Tea Rooms, four estate agents and barclays bank. There is a leisure centre, which was built with National Lottery funding. It has a modern health centre, a public library and the Steyning Museum. A spring fair is held on the Spring bank holiday (the last Monday in May) The Monarch's Way long-distance footpath skirts the southern end of the town.
The Steyning Festival was founded in 2006 by Ann Poupard, a resident of the town. The event is now biennial and runs for two weeks at the end of May/start of June. It features theatre, music, literature, talks, walks, community events and more. In 2009, the Steyning Festival was awarded a lottery grant to bring international artist and psychogeographer Chris Dooks to Steyning for a month-long residency, resulting in a free MP3 tour.
( Steyning - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Steyning . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Steyning - UK

The Swimmer (created by Same Sky)
samesky.co.uk
The Swimmer, a FREE family-friendly, water-based interactive theatre show, took place at The Prince Regent Swimming Complex on Saturday 7 April 2012, as part of the Brighton and Hove Children's Festival.
Same Sky, Brighton's community art charity, designed and produced the event to build the confidence of newcomers to swimming and to inspire people to return to the pool.
During The Swimmer, families donned their swimming costumes, got into the water and became characters in the show. Synchronised swimmers, show divers, floating sets, spectacular costumes, interactive games and a giant Grandmother Turtle transformed the Prince Regent Swimming Pool into a magical setting.
Same Sky, the charity which also puts on the Brighton Children's Parade and Burning the Clocks each year, received funding from both Children in Need and Brighton and Hove Arts Partnership to put on the one-of-its-kind event. The project formed a major part of two city initiatives -- Brighton & Hove Children's Festival and the city's Cultural Olympiad programme.
Many thanks to The Modern Exposition for their kind permission to use their music track, The Sage Recluse, on this video.
