I've lived here since 2011, in a small village. What I am presenting for your viewing is Life, away from the cities, the tourist traps, the bars and easy girls (or ladyboys even), the influences from western culture, like skyscrapers, Macdonalds, and KFC. I bring you the sights and sounds that farangs (which is what Thais call any foreigner) never experience.
After all the time I have lived here, I call them farangs, too. Because my wife and I have become a part of this village, where everybody knows us, and we know everybody.

As the powerful army approaching ever- languishing Siamese kingdom, of which Ayutthaya was the capital city. The mayor of Phitsanulok bowed to the Burmese and agreed to send his son, Naresuan at the age of nine as an adopted child, on other word, a hostage to the Burmese king, Bayinnaung at Pegu, the greatest king in Burmese history.
Naresuan was determined to get apart from his family to be the hostage in exchange of Siamese semi independence. While in the Pegu palace, Naresuan was feuded with Bayinnaung’s grandson about his age, Mingyi Swa. Naresuan was then sent to be educated as a novice monk at a Buddhist monastery outside the palace. Royal monument of King Naresuan the Great or Elephant battle war chedi is not plainly a tourist attraction but it is also a significant place in Thai history. The famous elephant battle between King Naresuan the Great and Crown Prince of Burma was held here and the victory freed Thai from Burma. The area used to be residential farm land before many antiques were discovered and identified as weapons and other war equipment. For instance, ancient bullets, war horse’s badges and war horse’s and war elephant’s accessories etc. Then, the place began to be noticed. In addition, there is an ancient chedi from Ayutthaya period that looks like stupa. It is believed that this stupa was made for the body of Crown Prince of Burma. A skeleton was found inside the old chedi. The monument also has exhibits and antiques in the buildinghoping to encourage historical learning to visitor. DAB - The Curse of King Naresuan
THE CURSE OF KING NARESUAN
After his inauguration in 1590 AD, King Naresuan restructured
the defensive forces of his kingdom. On his behalf a group of
paramilitary free warriors (PAHUYUTH) was asked to defend
the country in case of an invasion and to fulfill covert operations.
By this group of PAHUYUTH warriors a new DAB (sword)
style was developed and secretively passed on among the
descendants of this style. Its name is DAB NARESUAN,
also known as „Sword of Ayutthaya“.
As the indirect founder of this sword fighting style,
King Naresuan has been worshipped and recognized
as a sword teacher (Kru) ever since.
After the kings death the custom was established amongst
the swordsmen and women of DAB NARESUAN to visit
the kings statue, whenever they are nearby in order to pay
their respect with a traditional sword dance (Ram Dab).
It is said, that a sword dance from those who are not worthy,
or not capable of presenting the true legacy of King Naresuans
followship, is equal to an insult (lese majesty). These people would
suffer the wrath of King Naresuan and die within 48 hours.
For many Westerners this may seem like a superstition,
but the existence of this curse is a commonly known
fact amongst Thai swordsmen of all kind.
Only the fewest Thai sword practicioners ever had the
courage (and the knowledge) to perform this very old
ritual by the kings feet and to survive the curse:
