Where to Ride: Mountain Biking wild trails in Aberdeenshire, Scotland
Wondering where to ride in Scotland? Make Aberdeenshire a top priority. Fort William and the Tweed Valley are better known destinations, but Aberdeenshire has some golden riding spots for those of you who want that ‘big mountain’ enduro experience.
Aberdeenshire has some classic granite rock trails including the infamous Heart Break Ridge, and Mastermind, but also some lesser-ridden secret loamy enduro spots tucked away in Scots pine forest, best visited with local MTB guide, Chris Roper from Ride in Peace Adventures.

Tyrebagger Woods and Elrick Hill walk
A walk through Tyrebagger woods to Elrick Hill in Aberdeenshire, and a hike up Brimmond Hill thrown in for good measure. We travelled from Aberdeen to Dyce by train then walked alongside the busy A96 for about 3 miles until we arrived at the woods.

Aberdeenshire's MTB Scene is Blowing Up (2019)
Our team rider Chris Hutchens returns back to Aberdeenshire to spend some time with Gravitate, the charity he helped initiate 4 years ago.
He chats with Martin Byers, the Chairman, to find out about the project and how you can get behind it to ensure its success.
There's also multiple other project going on in and around the region supported by Will Clarke, the Regional Development Officer. Chris get's to hear more about his role before finding out a little more about the newly formed Aberdeenshire Trail Association. Doug Blease gives any budding trail builders out there a great insight into the well organised trail diggers and how to potentially go about setting up your own organisation.

4 Hills Walk, Brimmond Hill from Kingswells - Part 1-2
Brimmond Hill (266 m high) - part of the 'Four Hills' Walk, West of Aberdeen.
Distance from Kingswells: ~ 2.5 Km
Ascent: ~ 110 m
Time: ~15 min running / 45 min walking
Terrain: rough trail
The walk / run starts from Kingswells Crescent, just before the bridge.
From there, the walk is sign-posted with A4 flyers - can't miss the big Smiley face!
The path follows the 'Core path 42' all the way to the main road (Kingswells - Newhills cross). It is narrow, bog-like in places and looks abandoned with nettles taking over the space.
Just across the road is 'Core path 33', a wider trail, ideal for running / mountain-biking that takes you all the way up the hill alongside fields and shrubs. It gets steep and rocky in places.
From the top, you can enjoy a fantastic view over Aberdeen and the Aberdeenshire area as far as Clachnaben, Mount Battock and Bennachie in the background and Dyce, Kingswells, Westhill, Blackburn, Tyrebagger and Krikhill forests in the foreground.
