Maui Camping Guide - Kanaha Beach Park Kite Surfing
Kanaha Beach Park in Maui is one of the best places in the Islands to kite surf. With the tropical blue-green waters underfoot, the kite surfers use the winds that barrel between the West Maui mountains and Haleakala volcano to reach unbelievable speeds. Watching the kite surfers for the first time in September 2010, I wondered what the Kings and Queens of Maui's history would have thought of this beautiful -- almost magical -- sport.
Kanaha Beach Park also has camping facilities available. Close to the Kahului airport, this campground area is nestled near an urban environment.
Hiking through a rainforest to play in a waterfall, Kahului, Maui, Hawaii
We saved and paid for our vacation before it began. The plan was to fly straight from Atlanta to Hawaii, spend the night, then get on a cruise ship for 7 days to see 4 of the islands. Deloris planned excursions at every stop including rainforest hikes with waterfall swimming, zip lining, watching a sunrise from atop a 10,000 foot crater and biking down it, a luau, surfing lessons, and a helicopter tour of one of the islands. Epic doesn't describe it all. What a great way for us to celebrate 10 years of marriage. Awesome!

Hawai'i Aloha | Song Across Hawai'i | Playing For Change Collaboration
Hawai’i Aloha features dozens of Hawai‘i’s top artists across many genres, and over 1,000 youth from 10 Hawaiian charter schools in one epic song. Recorded live across 27 locations, this is Hawaiiʻs most widely known song, used to close important gatherings of all sizes. It is a song of unity and Aloha ‘Aina (Aloha for one’s birthplace, land and home).
About this collaboration: Mana Maoli, a Hawaiian nonprofit, teamed up with Playing For Change and 4 Miles as part of their Mana Mele Project, which features a solar mobile studio and a Music & Multimedia Academy. Alongside the youth - on campus, in real-world settings, and in this video, is the Mana Mele Collective - over 200 artists, engineers, and filmmakers who donate their time and talents to mentorships, recordings, and concerts in support of these schools. We hope you enjoy watching this collaborative effort as much as we enjoyed creating it!
