Maruekatayawan (Mrigadayavan) Palace is one of the oldest and most attractive royal palaces in Thailand. The Maruekatayawan Palace was constructed by His Majesty King Vajiravudh (Rama VI) in 1923 as a place where he could fully relax in great comfort amid a naturally serene atmosphere.
It was designed by an Italian architect with lots of verandas, latticework and covered boardwalks using golden teak from the demolished Hat Chao Samran Palace. The architectural design of the raised-floor wooden palace, with its three sections facing the sea, was drafted by the Monarch himself. Following the completion of the interior decoration in 1924, the King gave it his first visit and stay. His last visit to this seaside palace was made only a few months before his demise in 1925.
This palace is noted for three two story wooden pavilions facing the sea, and is referred to as the palace of love and hope. Series of halls are linked together throughout the palace. Residential halls of the royal consort members are located on the right wing. The central group of halls which is the royal residence consists of royal sitting and relaxing rooms, accommodations for close royal servants called Phisan Sakhon Hall, and the reading room.
In addition, Samoson Sewakamat Hall, a two-storey open pavilion, is used as a meeting place, and sometimes as a theater. Two important dramas were shown on this stage in 1941: Phra Ruang and Wiwah Phra Samut. Chao Phraya Ramrakhop ordered a statue of King Vajiravudh, as a royal dedication, to be enshrined in the hall of Marukhathaiyawan Palace. An annual rite is conducted on November 25, the anniversary of King Vajiravudh's death.
This is one of the many attractive places in Thailand that is a must to visit. This teakwood treasure (known for convenience as The Wooden Palace) stands on Hua Hin beachfront and, now restored. It is proudly billed as The Longest Golden Teak Palace in the World. This palace is only a few minutes by car from Hua Hin.

WALKABOUT IN HUA HIN THAILAND RESORT TOWN
JONNYS LIVING IN THAILAND VLOGS
Located on the west coast of the Gulf of Thailand and only 200 kilometers from Bangkok, Hua Hin is Thailand's oldest beach town resort that offers the ultimate getaway destination for everyone.
The towns rise to become Thailands first enchanting getaway began in 1922 when King Rama VII instructed his Italian architect to construct the summer palace, Klai Kangwon (Far from Worries) in what was then just a humble fishing village.
The charm of Hua Hin is that since then it still retains its fishing village serenity which is now side by side with the bustling center of a modern luxury beach resorts. Compared to Pattaya, the other beach destination near Bangkok, Hua Hin is relatively serene, and is a favourite with families and mature travellers.
The towns 5km of beaches are the cleanest they have been for many years, swimming is safe, and Hua Hin continues to enjoy some of the peninsulas driest weather. Besides it's great bright white sandy beach, Hua Hin offers the highest density of world class golf courses anywhere in Thailand while it's yet virtually undiscovered as an international Golf destination.

All pavilions are connected with each other long verandah standing on concrete piles. The total number of posts about 1080 pieces. High ceilings and stucco on the walls all contribute to a good ventilation of the sea breeze.

Unfortunately, the Queen had a miscarriage. After the queen still bore him a daughter, Bejaratana princess, born in Phra Nang Chao Suvadhana just one day before his death in 1925.

Driving past the front of the Kings Palace at Hua Hin , Thailand Klai Kangwon
Holy relics of newly saints sent to give blessing to the King
PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN, 12 May 2014 (NNT) - His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on May 11 granted an audience to Cardinal Archbishop Emeritus of Bangkok Meechai Kitboonchu and members of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Thailand, at Klai Kangwon Palace, in Hua Hin District.
The papal representatives were assigned by the Holy See to bring to Their Majesties the King and Queen the sacred relics of Saint John XXIII and Saint John Paul II, in order to pray for a stronger health of the royal couple.
Both Saint John XXIII and Saint John Paul II were canonized on April 27, 2014. For Saint John XXIII, the relic of him is a small piece of skin, enclosed under glass at the heart of a silver and gold-plated reliquary. Saint John Paul II's relic is a vial of his blood, set in a similar reliquary. Pope John XXIII served as pontiff from 1958 to 1963 during which he took a key role in modernizing the Church and creating unity among Catholic people. The Pope received Their Majesties the King and Queen at the Vatican City on October 1, 1960 when Their Majesties were on a European tour.
Pope John Paul II was elected in 1978 and reigned as pontiff for almost 27 years. He visited more than 100 countries during his tenure including Thailand. Their Majesties the King and Queen received the Pope on May 10, 1984 at the Chakri Throne Hall in Bangkok, during which His Majesty discussed centuries-old relationship between the Vatican and Thailand, as well as the expansion of Christianity in this country.
