Graupner Elektro Rookie QR - Maiden Flight - Knighton Park Leicestershire UK GoPro Hero2
As opposed to the rudder and elevator servos being positioned in the front bay, the servos have been housed towards the rear of the plane to help with the CoG and the mounting of the GoPro Hero 2 on top of the canopy.
The plane is flown with a 3S 2200 mAh battery. I've gone with slightly more pitch on my 6.3 inch prop than the supplied 6.3 * 3 prop. I now have a 6.3 * 5 and this has produced a lot more thrust. It's pulling just over 10amps as opposed to 6amps on the stock prop, but with conservative use of the throttle, you can still get well in excess of 10 minute flights with the 2200 battery.
In the video, you can see Knighton Park, Leicester Race Course, Oadby Golf Club, Oadby and Wigston and Leicester in the distance.

Leicester is a city in England’s East Midlands region. Leicester Cathedral, where Richard III was reinterred in 2015, has stood at the city’s heart for over 900 years. Close by, the King Richard III Visitor Centre tells the story of the king’s life and death and displays his original burial site. The ruins of Leicester Castle, where Richard III spent some of his last days, lie in Castle Gardens, near the River Soar.

Market Day, Hinckley, Leicestershire
Friday Market in Hinckley
Leicester, Abbey Park & West Knighton, Ramsbury Road, (1999?)
Leicester, Abbey Park (1999 ?), dog belonging to the late Suzi Veverka, (seen attired in real fur jacket top, white trousers and fancy hat) & Ramsbury Road, West Knighton, my old house, two garden sheds, and extension build in progress opposite, my former ginger & white cat (now sadly deceased). You can hear my voice, but I am not to be seen . Original on VHS-C Sony Camcorder, which I was trying out here for the very first time in Abbey Park and which did not belong to me. I subsequently borrowed it to transfer the video from the VHS-C cassette to a full size VHS cassette.
Nature Reserve, near Anstey Lane and, Gilroes Cemetary, Leicester, UK Drone Flight Raw footage.
I think this was about my 5th Flight with the Q500, so far. This is raw footage. I have been experimenting with different camera settings. All of the settings produce slightly different results. Frame rate was set at 25frames per second with auto exposure set, and an HD resolution. The background sound is the 'raw sound' of the drone itself. Sometimes it can be quite interesting to hear it. If the sound annoys you, I would suggest muting your sound whilst viewing.. lol. On this flight it was quite gusty at times, hence the slightly rough landing. Decided to land properly, and to try not catch it with my hands this time. ;)
I am still a little cautious about taking it higher and further. Next time maybe.
Though only a beginner pilot, I find this hobby to be extremely therapeutic to both mind and body. It is has a fairly short learning curve, and the rewards, both whilst in flight, and, subsequently viewing the footage after, are a real pleasure. Since these drones first came on the market, I have always wanted one. I just hope all of my future flights are as, successful and safe. Still need a lot of practice panning and positioning the camera during flight. A little smoother and not so heavy handed is whats needed. Practice. ;)
Leicester part III
1 hour 24 minutes from London St.Pancras by train and you in Leicester. Quickly, comfortably. Nice city.Centre is very busy with refurbishments. Big market, a lot of parks, gardens, historical sites and Asians(Indians, Pakistani, Bangla, kebab-shops, Hindu restaurants on every corner, a lot of information desks written on couple Asian languages).
Knighton Park Community Fun Day 2013
Knighton Park Community Fun Day. Leicester. Sunday 1st September 2013. This was a local community event on one of Leicester's more scenic parks close to Oadby. There was music on throughout, but when I arrived I was just in time to catch the Seaforth Highlanders marching band and The Simpletones, a vocal quartet. Both bands are based in Leicester.
