Indian Elephants crossing Kosi River - Jim Corbett National park. Video by NC Films
In my second visit to Jim Corbett National Park, in March 2016, I came across a herd of Indian Elephants crossing Kosi River, which is a tributary to Ramganga.
It was 6:15 AM in the morning and Sunrise was happening with the sky beautifully painted red with the morning rays of the Sun.
The elephants are one of the most intelligent mammals with the large brains. They are gregarious in nature and move in herd. The whole family takes care of each other and the juveniles in the herd.
As few young elephants were there in this herd, so considering their safety, two adult elephants crossed the river first, carefully inspecting the path of crossing for any danger. Once they were convinced that the path is clear, the rest of the herd followed immediately and crossed the river, giving me this wonderful video.
Enjoy the video.

Kosi River outside Jim Corbett National Park. The Ramganga is the river that flows through Corbett Park.
Jim Corbett National Park named after the hunter and conservationist Jim Corbett who played a key role in its establishment—is the oldest national park in India. The park was established in 1936 as Hailey National Park. Situated in Nainital district of Uttarakhand the park acts as a protected area for the critically endangered Bengal tiger of India, the secure survival of which is the main objective of Project Tiger, an Indian wildlife protection initiative.

River Kosi at Jim Corbett National Park
River Kosi looks beautiful at the Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand. Its in complete harmony though a few resorts are out but thankfully they have maintained the distance. Elephant Safari is available for people to go into the forest to have a see of Tiger but so far I did not find any.
