Places to see in ( Hamburg - Germany ) Hamburger Kunsthalle
The Hamburger Kunsthalle is the art museum of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, Germany. It is one of the largest museums in the country. The name 'Kunsthalle' indicates the museum's history as an 'art hall' when founded in 1850. Today, the Kunsthalle houses one of the few art collections in Germany that covers seven centuries of European art, from the Middle Ages to the present day.
The Kunsthalle's permanent collections focus on North German painting of the 14th century, and paintings by Dutch, Flemish and Italian artists of the 16th and 17th centuries, French and German drawings and paintings of the 19th century, and international modern and contemporary art. The Kunsthalle consists of three connected buildings, dating from 1869, 1921 and 1997, located in the Altstadt district, between the Hauptbahnhof (central station) and the two Alster lakes.
The Kunsthalle has its origins in 1849, when established and opened a year later as 'Städtische Gallerie' (municipal painting gallery) by the Hamburg Kunstverein, which was founded in 1817. The collection grew quickly, and it soon became necessary to provide a building. The original red brick Kunsthalle was built from 1863 to 1869, designed by architects Georg Theodor Schirrmacher and Hermann von der Hude, and financed largely through private donations. The first director became the art historian and educator Alfred Lichtwark (1852–1914). His successor during the interwar period was Gustav Pauli, who also oversaw the completion of the Kuppelsaal (domed-hall) extension, the Kunsthalle's first annex, designed by Fritz Schumacher and erected between 1914 and 1921.
In 1994, one painting of the Kunsthalle was involved in the so-called Frankfurt art theft. While on loan to the Kunsthalle Schirn in Frankfurt, the painting Nebelschwaden by Caspar David Friedrich was stolen. After negotiations with the thieves, a lawyer bought back the painting; when the Kunsthalle refused to pay him the agreed consideration, he sued and won. In 1997, the Kunsthalle received, the 'Galerie der Gegenwart', a 5,600 square metres (60,000 sq ft) extension, designed by Cologne architect Oswald Mathias Ungers and dedicated to the Kunsthalle's contemporary art collections. The cubic building sits on a monolithic base at a prominent location in close proximity to the Binnenalster.

BULLY SCULPTURE kunstverein
Hannh Perry Sculpture
HAMBURG.- The Kunstverein in Hamburg is presenting the first institutional solo exhibition by British artist Hannah Perry in Germany. Perry’s artistic practice encompasses sculptures, installations, videos, and performances and often draws on her own memories and experience. By layering and superimposing various materials and content, she presents multiperspectival works that dissect the essence of personal memories in today’s hyper technological and networked society. A Smashed Window and an Empty Room deals with the impact of trauma on mental and emotional health as well as conditions and consequences of human interactions.
Perry’s visual language utilizes coded and gendered industrial materials which reflect on the landscape and demographics that shaped her upbringing in the North of England. She is particularly drawn to materials from the steel industry, making most of her sculptural work with her father, an industrial metal fabricator.
The expansive sculpture Rage Fluids (2018) consists of several curved steel frames covered with chrome-colored vinyl foils usually used for car tuning. The reflecting surface is set in motion by subwoofers, so visitors perceive a constantly distorted image of themselves and their environment. The sculpture stems from Perry’s ongoing interest in the automobile industry and the cult surrounding it, which at times resembles a fetish and is often linked to specific notions of masculinity. In Rage Fluids, Perry examines an analogy between human body and car with the pulsating chrome foil echoing skin as a permeable membrane separating the body from internal struggles. At the same time, the vibrating chrome can be read as the aftershock of the exterior of a car following a crash.
The sculpture is associated with the 360° film GUSH (2018), which engages with the highs and lows of everyday and life-changing events, the universal in personal pain and the feeling of inner turmoil in moments of shock. The narrative and filmic perspectives are constantly disrupted, meandering between immersive 360° shots and conventional frontal views. The film candidly explores immense grief, pain and loss and coming to terms with it against the backdrop of the tragic suicide of a close friend and collaborator of Perry.
For this exhibition, Perry created the new electro-mechanical sculpture BULLY (2019) that evokes moments of violence, tenderness and intimacy through a mechanized dance with itself. Movement simulators choreograph the actions of two curved metal bodies. Harmonious interactions between the two elements are juxtaposed to repeated moments of confrontation. Through their clashes, the sculptural forms gradually destroy their polished surfaces, so that during the course of the exhibition the signs of wear caused by their interactions and confrontations become increasingly evident.
Hannah Perry (*1984 in Chester, lives and works in London) studied at Goldsmiths College and the Royal Academy of Art in London. She has shown internationally at solo and group exhibitions, among others at Towner Art Gallery, Eastbourne, Somerset House, London, and KM - Künstlerhaus, Halle für Kunst und Medien in Graz (all 2018), MoMA Warsaw and L'inconnue in Montreal (both 2017), Fotomuseum Winterthur and Saatchi Gallery, London (both 2016). Perry has developed performances for the Park Nights of the Serpentine Gallery in London and others.

Places to see in ( Muenster - Germany )
Münster is an independent city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Muenster is in the northern part of the state and is considered to be the cultural centre of the Westphalia region. Muenster is also capital of the local government region Münsterland. Münster was the location of the Anabaptist rebellion during the Protestant Reformation and the site of the signing of the Treaty of Westphalia ending the Thirty Years' War in 1648. Today it is known as the bicycle capital of Germany.
Münster is situated on the river Aa, approximately 15 kilometres (9 miles) south of its confluence with the Ems in the Westphalian Bight, a landscape studded with dispersed settlements and farms, the so-called Münsterland. The Wolstonian sediments of the mountain ridge called Münsterländer Kiessandzug cross the city from north to south. The highest elevation is the Mühlenberg in the northwest of Münster, 97 metres above sea level. The lowest elevation is at the Ems with 44 m above sea level. The city centre is 60 m above sea level, measured at the Prinzipalmarkt in front of the historic city hall.
Münster claims to be the bicycle capital of Germany. Münster's Central Station is on the Wanne-Eickel–Hamburg railway. The city is connected by Intercity trains to a lot of other German major cities. Historically, Münster had a historic tramway system, but later closed in 1954. Today, Münster does have some public transportation, which includes bus expresses.
