4 Most Beautiful Zen Gardens Without Tourist Crowds, Kyoto, Japan
Featuring four exceptionally beautiful Zen gardens in Kyoto, Japan: Koto-in, Shisen-do, Jonen-in, and Saiho-ji. They are off of mass tourists' radar, and are the hidden gems in Kyoto.
Saiho-ji (Moss temple) requires reservation to visit.

BRIDGE TO HEAVEN (Amanohashidate) | Miyazu, Kyoto
Amanohashidate is a sandbar in the northern part of Kyoto Prefecture. Amanohashidate roughly translates as bridge to heaven because it looks like a path connecting the land and sky when viewed upside down (hence the tradition to view it through your legs).
The south side of the sandbar has Viewland - an amusement park with some viewing platforms. The north side has Kasamatsu Park which is a more nature-y park with more viewing platforms.
It really is a beautiful place and worth a visit if in Kyoto Prefecture. It's in the town of Miyazu (which I accidentally said Amanohashidate for in the video), about 2 hours on the train north of Kyoto city.
Much love and happy travels

A Bamboo Forest in Kyoto | Kyoto | Japan | We.Are.Wanderful
A Bamboo Forest in Kyoto
Kyoto | Japan
APRIL 13, 2018—This was the first part of our Kyoto-Nara-Kobe day tour from Osaka. We had a very pleasant trip to the Japanese countryside making our first stop at the Arashiyama District in Kyoto. Our main objective here was to visit the Instagram-famous Arashiyama Bamboo Grove or more simply known as the Bamboo Forest.
To be clear Japan has lots of bamboo forests both in Kyoto and all throughout the country. But this particular bamboo forest has earned fame in recent years since it was developed and opened to tourists. It has become quite famous especially in Instagram.
It was a cool morning for a walking tour. We started out from the tourist bus parking lot by the sparklingly clean Katsura River. We then walked for approximately 1 kilometer to the bamboo forest.
Arashiyama district, and the whole Kyoto countryside in general, is a perfect place to experience the traditional Japan – people wearing kimono, rickshaws, beautiful gardens, Shinto and buddhist temples, etc. It is also quite popular for gastronomical treats, both traditional Japanese food and popular and contemporary Japanese street food.
This is a short video presentation of our morning walking tour to visit a Bamboo Forest at the Arashiyama District in Kyoto, Japan. Enjoy watching.

Visiting Kyoto
This is my last video for my Japan trip last June 2019. My sister and I stayed for 12 days and we got to visit a lot of prefectures. But there was still so much more we didn't get to see. We're both grateful to our parents for this trip. I hope we get to travel with them to the places we visited and explore new ones soon.
Thank you so much for watching my videos ❤️

In any case, see you in the comments. :D

Sanzenin Temple, Ohara Kyoto in 4K - 三千院•京都 - Japan As It Truly Is
Sanzenin Temple is one of hidden gems of Kyoto and shows you can still see a magnificent place without the huge tourist mobs.
Sanzenin (or Sanzen-in, 三千院) is one of the few remaining places that is still one of Kyoto's very best sights, yet has few crowds of tourists stampeding through. In part because it is not that well publicized, but also because it is in Ohara, which is about an hours by bus from Kyoto Station. Aside from its historic religious treasures, it has a beautiful garden that is simply astonishing.
Going in the morning by bus is HIGHLY recommended instead of afternoons since many elderly are getting off at every single stop along the way, and it will greatly increase your travel time.
Open 8:30-5:30 daily Mar-Dec 7
9:00-5:00 daily Dec 8-Feb
Admissions end 30 minutes before closing.
Entrance fee: ¥700

#vlogday, KYOTO (NISHIKI MARKET & FUSHIMI INARI SHRINE)!!
Hi there!
My apologies for the lack of updates in between my Jakarta and Japan trip. Things got reallyyy busy at work and I could not upload a video that I had intended to go up before the Japan vlog.
Anyways, here’s my first Japan vlog for my #KYOingTOOSAKA 2017 trip! (really loving that hashtag btw). This is my second SOLO TRIP (WOOHOO!)! It is really wonderful to be by myself for a while and to explore the Kansai area :)
Starting the trip with Nishiki Market and Fushimi Inari Shrine! By the way, a short disclaimer that this is quite a chatty vlog. I felt that I did not capture enough“scenic” footage and I talk quite a bit about my tips as a solo traveller..(hence the length of the video).... Nonetheless, I hope you still found this video helpful. Definitely more scenic footage will come in my subsequent vlogs..so stay tuned! :D
Places:-

KYOTO Vlog | Day 2 ~ Fushimi Inari / Yasaka Shrine / Chion-in
Day 2 of my Kyoto trip! The number one place I wanted to visit in Kyoto was Fushimi Inari Taisha so I'm so glad I was able to finally go there! I looked terrible because I was still a little sick and I didn't feel like wearing makeup but I did my best to reach about halfway up the mountain that torii gates line. I really wish I would've had the energy to go all the way to the top.
Yasaka Shrine was better than I imagined! It was so colorful with all the food stalls and shops. And I was able to wear the fox hat that I bought!
At Chion-in, I wasn't able to film this but I got to see some monks that were chanting and practicing for the New Year festivities. One of the halls on the temple grounds was open to the public so we could enter and watch. It was probably the most memorable experience I had while in Kyoto!
Thank you so much for watching! I hope you enjoyed this video and found it informative~

Murin-an Garden in 4K: Kyoto's Secret Jewel - 無鄰菴●京都 - Japan As It Truly Is
Murin-an is the still undiscovered gem the tourist mobs just stampede past - right in the heart of Kyoto. See what they all miss here.
Murin-an is the former home and garden of Yamagata Aritomo, one of Japan's first Prime Ministers. The garden is astonishing, and makes you wish you could wake up every morning for a tranquil walk through its beautiful paths. Work began on the whole place in 1894 and was completed in 1898. The garden covers 3135 sq. meters and while nearly every other last place in Kyoto is getting flooded by more and more tourists, Murin-an is still a quiet and peaceful oasis and on some days you can nearly have the whole place to yourself.
If you have the chance, by all means go see it and experience a rare, fantastic dreamworld. It just takes one tour guide to find it and the whole place will be ruined by mobs of loudmouthed tour groups - so get there before they do.
For other great sights in Kyoto, be sure to see the Kyoto Playlist:

#vlogday, KYOTO (KIYOMIZUDERA, KODAIJI &GEISHAS)!!
Hi there!
Check out day 2 of my Kyoto Trip, featuring Kiyomizedera Shrine, Higashiyama district, Kodaiji and Gion area!! Kodaiji Temple is by far the best shrine that I have been to (yes, better than Kiyomizudera because it is too crowded there…) and I checked out the famous Japanese style STARBUCKS! Watch till the end where you will see me sneaking a “vlogging shot” with the geishas in the scene (hehe).
It was raining SOOO heavily and a lot of my footage were blur and/or with water spots :( I tried my best to capture the places that I have been to with my very best effort, I hope that you will find this video helpful!!

Fushimi Inari-taisha aka the Shrines in Kyoto Japan
Visited this area of Kyoto in April 2018, a must visit to see the wooden structures and historic area. Definitely a lot of picture worthy areas but if you want to get those it would be best to go as early as you can. We went on a weekday arriving around 11 am and it was pretty much a sea of tourists.
Fushimi Inari-taisha is the head shrine of the kami Inari, located in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan.
