Is Kyoto Tower worth it?
Is Kyoto Tower worth it? It’s the first attraction you see outside JR Kyoto Station. Built in 1964 to show off Kyoto for the Summer ‘64 Tokyo Olympics, it kind of is out of place in a city where tourists want to feel the old and traditional soul of Japan’s ancient capitol.
Ticket / Entrance fee: ¥750 ($7.00)

Kyoto Station in Japan
A travel guide in and around Kyoto Station in Kyoto Japan. Highlights include: Kyoto Ramen Alley, Kyoto Tower, Skywalk, and a spectacular light display on the main staircase of Isetan department store.
Kyoto Tower Kyoto Japan
Kyoto Tower Kyoto Japan 7/18/2018. We begin our walk outside of Kyoto Station next to the bus stops. Most of these buses go to tourist spots around Kyoto. We walk toward Kyoto Tower and then around the building to the backside and enter that way. We didn't realize we could have gone in the front. We find the elevator to take us up to the entrance to Kyoto Tower. I messed up my footage so I don't have any of the introduction from the staff or us paying (I forgot how much). We get up to the top and look at all the views. There's also a shrine, a fortune paper thing machine, a vending machine with some merchandise in it. When you want to go back down you have to walk down one flight of stairs that makes it look like you're standing over the glass part. This may not be good for people with a fear of heights. We had to wait for Austin to feel comfortable to come down the stairs. On the next floor down is the elevator we take to the ticket area to Kyoto Tower and we are sent off with happy smiles and waving goodbyes. Enjoy!

Kyoto Station Japan - Futuristic space where you can feel traditional Japanese beauty
Kyoto Station Building, directly connected with Kyoto Station, is large commercial facilities including a hotel, souvenir shops and restaurants, a department store, cultural facilities like a theater.
It is large atrium style with a huge glass and metal roof and attracts many tourists from all over the world.
You can walk on the roof-ceiling corridor. That is very exciting place.
The big stairway is inlayed with LEDs, and the seasonal design unique to Kyoto is colorfully illuminated.
This station is a terminal reaching to surrounding areas in Kyoto City, and many commercial facilities, such as the Kyoto Tower and the Kyoto Station building, are located around it.
Kyoto Station Building is the largest and most fun station in Japan.
I recommend you to spend a relaxing time here.

夜の京都タワー Kyoto Tower in Japan
Kyoto Tower is illuminated to look like a candle. It was opened in 1964.
When I was kid, I was afraid of Kyoto tower at night. Because that's weird.

Once the capital of the nation, #Kyoto is now an ultra-modern haven that retains a great deal of its ancient charm. To see some of this long-established glamour, make your way to Kyoto Tower. #Visit Gion, an entertainment quarter and home to many of Kyoto’s famous geishas.
During your #vacation, see the Sannen-zaka and Ninen-zaka districts, where cars are prohibited and traditional teahouses and temples adorn the nearby landscape. #Explore the great open plazas of the Haian Shrine or spend a quiet moment in the Shorenin Temple and its beautiful gardens.
The most famous of Kyoto’s temples is Fushimi Inari-taisha, a stunning red complex that sprawls over Mount Inari. JAPAN VLOG 1 - Arashiyama, Kiyomizu-Dera, Fushimi Inari, Nishiki Market, Kyoto Tower
Hey guys!
So last August my mom and I travel to Japan for about 6 days, it was an unforgettable experience. We bravely decided to go on our own even though we cannot speak Japanese, I am able to plan this trip by myself through hours and hours of research on the internet. So I thought that it will be just right to also share our point of view regarding travel in Japan.
Thanks x

MASSIVE Beef Bowl BREAKFAST at Sukiya - Japanese FAST FOOD + Kyoto Tower | Kyoto, Japan
The twelve days I spent in Japan in late January of 2019 are some of my favorites in my decade of traveling the world. This island nation is heaven for travelers: it’s safe and clean, has a long and rich history and a vibrant culture, and is chock-full of unique experiences you can’t have anywhere else. Since I first landed there, the country has skyrocketed to the top of my list of places I want to explore further on future trips. Follow me as I document my epic trip through Japan and see why I’ve fallen head-over-heels for this amazing place.
My Film Making Kit ►
On the morning of my second day in Kyoto, I decided I wanted to have another beef bowl for breakfast, so I headed out to Sukiya, a local diner chain with more than 2,000 locations in Japan, for some authentic Japanese fast food before visiting one of the city’s most prominent landmarks! Come along with me as I continue my exploration of this ancient, traditional Japanese city!
Sukiya is known for using delicious ingredients, leaner beef, high-quality rice and vegetables, and multiple sizes for their dishes. I went with the pork miso & curry soup along with the beef bowl, which comes with sticky rice, onions, and a raw egg. The dishes here are cheap and the service is quick! I couldn’t wait to get my bowl and see just how fast I could get in and out of the restaurant!
I cracked my egg right over the beef bowl and mixed it in really well before I dug in. The beef was so tasty and juicy and was fantastic with the rice and egg. It’s also an extremely filling way to begin a day because of the huge amount of rice they give you! I recommend adding soy sauce to the eggy rice for a blast of additional flavor!
Next, it was time for the pork miso & curry soup. The broth was incredible and I loved the herbs and pieces of onion and radish in it. The pork was chewy and fatty and the flavors were out of this world! This was like a miso soup on steroids!
This was the perfect breakfast for such a cold day! It was hot, filling, and full of sensational flavor. And best of all, it only cost 550 Yen/roughly $5 and I was in and out of the restaurant in about 20 minutes!
On the way to my next destination, I grabbed a Black Boss cold coffee from a vending machine for 100 Yen/$0.90. Now that I was energized, I set off for Kyoto Tower, which stands high above the rest of the city and is open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. (final admission is at 8:40). I got my ticket to go to the observation deck for 770 Yen/$6.93, but the prices differ for high school students, elementary school students, preschool-age children, and people with disabilities. I got on the elevator and rode up to the 11th floor and switched to a second elevator, which took me to the very top, 100 meters above the city!
The observation deck was really nice and clean, and laid out in a circle so you have 360-degree views of Kyoto. There’s also an interactive map that shows you different attractions, but I believe it’s only in Japanese. You can also take a better look at the city through the provided binoculars, which include hand-held ones and static ones that are attached to a stand. Another cool feature is that each of the deck’s windows has labels on it, which tells you which attractions are visible from that window!
I love observation decks so much. They’re a great way to get a bird’s-eye view of the places you visit. I highly recommend them! Kyoto seems to be located in a valley between mountains and while the tower isn’t as tall as the one in Tokyo, the views are still quite breathtaking! It’s a must-visit in Kyoto!
