Kununurra & Lake Argyle: S03 Western Australia E18 Road Trip Lap
We arrived into Kununurra and took stock, before heading down to Lake Argyle. We stayed at a great free camp, hired a BBQ boat to explore, crocodile spot, fish and then swim in Lake Argyle. We also braved the waters of the Lake Argyle Resort pool to swim whilst looking out at some amazing Lake Argyle scenery.

Characters of the Kimberley: Meet Charlie Sharpe - Lake Argyle, The Kimberley, Australia
Bonafide bushkid of Kununurra, Charlie Sharpe would love to take you adventuring the extremes of Lake Argyle in Australia's North West -- cruising one of largest expanses of fresh water in the southern hemisphere and exploring unique ecosystems.
Charlie invites you to toss the mobile phone aside and throw yourself right into what he calls the world's best backyard. Here, you can fish, swim, dive, water ski, or just share a quiet moment with the brolgas and ducks, pelicans, jabirus, crocodiles, buffalo, wild horses and kangaroos.

Lake Argyle
Its sheer size alone makes Lake Argyle worth a visit, being recognised as the second largest man-made reservoir in Australia. However, don't be fooled by its 'man-made' prefix though, as these waters are much more than a vital part of an irrigation system. With more than 26 different species of fish and an estimated population of over 25,000 freshwater crocodiles, Lake Argyle has evolved into a natural sanctuary for the native wildlife. Be sure to visit the lake on your next Kimberley Adventure! We highly recommend hopping on a cruise with Lake Argyle Cruises or Lake Argyle Tours & Cruises - Kimberley Durack, as there really isn't a better way to unwind and soak in the outstanding sights. Get in touch with us if you'd like to learn more about the lake and the tours on offer.
