Lake Kurwongbah bass fishing
September to early December is a great time to target Australian bass in our impoundments. They come to the edges and can be targeted with lures especially spinnerbaits.
In this video I did exactly that with some new colour spinnerbaits form Obsession Spinnerbaits.
Lake Kurwongbah Hot Weather, Hot Fishing
After a few weeks off the water it was nice to get out fishing again. Wasn't sure how Lake Kurwongbah would fish with the hot weather we have been having. I needn't have worried, as a slight change of tactics and a bit of exploring in new areas of the lake, resulted in some of the best fishing I have had in quite some time.
Lake Kurwongbah Bass Fishing On Dragon Kayaks
Our first trip to Lake Kurwongbah produced a few nice size bass with Chris scoring his PB! Using a mix of blades, vibes and stick baits slowly hopped along the bottom the bass came thick and fast with even the little ones putting up a good fight... Not the toga we were hoping for but a great day out all the same! The wind forcast was 20knots+ on the day this was filmed so it just goes to show once again you cant always trust the weather man!!
Lake Kurwongbah 55cm SARATOGA Catch
Delighted to finally catch one of these amazing creatures! After only two decent sessions targeting this species, I finally managed to catch this toga measuring in at 55cm. One catch that won't be forgotten anytime soon.. Stoked! ????????????

Kurwongbah - First time at Lakeside
A quick trip up to the northern end of lake k revealed a vastly different environment, an environment much more like that of wild bass and saratoga.
I pulled a few good sized bass out of the lillies on a sub-surface minnowz, and dropped one good saratoga which went on a belting run before spitting the hook.
Next time i'm going back with weedless frogs, and i'll get it to stick!

Sharing the waterway with water skiers is part and parcel of fishing Lake Kurwongbah, especially on weekends. What it did do was force me to push into areas that the weed was thicker and a change of tactics was required. I definitely thought it would mean heading home early, but that didn't happen.

The wind really has been frustrating recently. There was a little window of opportunity to get out on Lake Kurwongbah on Sunday morning. Hoped to get a saratoga, but that didn't happen. I did get a few nice bass though.
