Lamport Hall, Ancestral Home of the Isham Family
This is beautiful Lamport Hall and Gardens located at Lamport, Northampton NN6 9HD, UK. The brother of Katherine Isham Paget (John Isham) built this in the 1560’s. John made his wealth in the wool industry and the fields of Lamport are full of grazing sheep still today. Lamport Hall was the home of the Isham Family from 1560 until 1976, when it was then put into a family trust for preservation and can be toured by the public today. Katherine’s Isham family pedigree is in this video to show our connection to Lamport Hall. Eusebius Pagit, Katherine’s son, was also rector here in Lamport from 1572-1574. We were thrilled to discover that the well preserved old library of Lamport Hall holds 3 of the Pagit’s books under sealed lock and key. They have a copy of “The Historie of the Bible” by Eusebius Pagit, and they have “Christianographia” and “Heresiography” both by Ephraim Pagitt. It was so inspiring to walk through this home and gardens imagining the Paget and Isham families interacting and worshipping together there hundreds of years ago!!! An added treat was having peppermint tea and tea cakes with currants in the garden tearoom.
Katherine Isham Paget is my 12th great grandmother.
*The Paget surname is often found with various spellings. The book publications have “Pagit” and “Pagitt”, while other references will use “Paget”. It seemed to change from generation to generation.

Places to see in ( Northampton - UK )
Northampton is the county town of Northamptonshire in the East Midlands of England. It lies on the River Nene, about 67 miles north-west of London and 50 miles south-east of Birmingham.
Northampton rose to national significance with the establishment of Northampton Castle, which was an occasional royal residence and regularly hosted the Parliament of England. Medieval Northampton had many churches, monasteries and the University of Northampton, which were all enclosed by the town walls. It was granted its first town charter by King Richard I in 1189 and its first mayor was appointed by King John in 1215. The town is also the site of two medieval battles; the Battle of Northampton (1264) and the second in 1460.
Northampton's royal connection languished in the modern period; the town supported Parliament (the Roundheads) in the English Civil War, which culminated in King Charles II ordering the destruction of the town walls and most of the castle. The town also suffered the Great Fire of Northampton (1675) which destroyed most of the town. It was soon rebuilt and grew rapidly with the industrial development of the 18th century. Northampton continued to grow following the creation of the Grand Union Canal and the arrival of the railways in the 19th century, becoming an industrial centre for footwear and leather manufacture.
After the World Wars, Northampton's growth was limited until it was designated as a New Town in 1968, accelerating development in the town. Northampton unsuccessfully applied for unitary status in 1996 and city status in 2000; the town continues to expand with many areas undergoing urban renewal.

Lamport Hall, July 2014
This very short piece of footage shows the outside and front of the beautiful Lamport Hall in Northamptonshire. This Grade I Listed House was the home of the Isham family from 1560 to 1976 and Sir Charles Isham (1819-1903) began the tradition of garden gnomes. Lamport Hall is therefore the home of the oldest garden gnome in the United Kingdom.

Prototype Visits: Wightwick Hall Launch
In the first of an occasional series, these prototype visits present highlights of days out at heritage railways and preservation centres. With vintage rolling stock operating in recreated settings, these locations can help inspire modelling effective scenes complete with a variety of period details.
This video covers the launch into traffic of 6989 ‘Wightwick Hall’ after 44 years of restoration. An impressive feat of work, she joins a wide variety of operative engines and displays at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, Quainton, that are well worth visiting. Northampton & Lamport Railway 02.01.2017
The first outing of 2017 took me to the Northampton & Lamport Railway on the 2nd January 2017.
The main reason for this visit was to film Peckett R4 Class 0-4-0 No. 2104 working on it's last day before the expiry of it's boiler certificate. No. 2104 is seen operating passenger services along the line from various locations along the line in and around Pitsford & Brampton Station.
Go Beyond- Northants Ultra 34
This video is a quick overview of the recent event held at lamport hall in northamptonshire created by chris wonfor and simon price. Personally this is perhaps the most important piece of video work to date as it not only shows the beauty of northamptonshire but it also shows the sheer dedication from the company Go Beyond. This is a small promotional video that was created by Chris Wonfor (me) and simon price and overall i am very pleased with the hard efforts we all did as a team and very thankful for the people taking part in this event as their spirits were sky high despite the poor weather conditions. It is an honour to be a part of this event and an honour to be able to document at one of these events as it is all going for a good cause.
The event is a 34 mile loop taking in some of the most interesting country houses and historical sites in England and as well as Lamport includes Naseby, Althorp (home of the Spencer family), Cottesbrooke, evidently the house Jane Austen used as the basis for Mansfield Park and Kelmarsh
Hall as well some stunning countryside.
Enjoy the video!
