Le P'tit Train du Nord Bike Trail in 4K - Tremblant, QC
One Saturday me and a friend went out to the Explore the Trans Canada Trail, namely the Le P'tit Train du Nord section of it in Tremblant, QC and we were not dissapointed. Never have I seen such a curvy and dynamic bike bath, all the while keeping high quality conditions.

Bike Le P'tit Train Du Nord in Quebec
Pack away your mountain biking armour but bring a corkscrew for this genteel 4-5 day ride along a former train track in the beautiful Laurentians. The 200km-long mostly gravel trail takes you through lush countryside, charming villages and abandoned, restored train stations. Shuttles drop off your luggage at B&B's every day, while refreshments and meals are available in villages along the way. Popular in the summer months, the trail runs between St Jerome and Mont-Laurier.

P'Tit Train Du Nord
The P'Tit Train Du Nord trail in Quebec is an incredible 200km route that goes through the Laurentide Mountains, around lakes, rivers, and rock faces. Due to it being an old rail trail, the infrastructure was left behind meaning there are plenty of old train stations along the way that have been converted to rest stops, wine bars, cafes, and more!
We did the first 100km of this trail and split it up mostly into two days. This was our itinerary:
Day 1:
-St Jerome to Val David, 46km (29 miles)
-Rest stop at St Adele, 25km, Cafe de la Gare/Espresso Sports
-Overnight at Les Passionnes in Val David
Day 2:
-Val David to La Conception, 58km (36 miles)
-Would have stopped at La Stazionne at 70km in St Faustin if not for the downpour all day! We just wanted to get to our next stop.
-Overnight at Auberge Le Cosy in La Conception
Day 3:
-La Conception to St Faustin 29km (18 miles)
-Back down the path, ended at La Stazionne in St Faustin
-Autobus Le P'tit Train Du Nord picked us up to take us back to St Jerome
We plan to go back next summer and do the whole thing and have heard that the second half is even prettier than the first! There are many ways to do this route so make sure to check out this link for all the info you need:
P'tit Train Du Nord is part of The Great Trail in Canada and we plan to explore more of that as well. Here's a link to show you just how the routes link up:
Though this trail involved both pavement and gravel, the bike packing and adventure aspects made it a no-brainer for us! For more ideas for strictly gravel/backroad routes, visit our site at roadlessgraveled.com
