Fenelon Falls, Ontario
The 'Jewel of the Kawarthas', Fenelon Falls has a permanent population of around 1,800 but the numbers increase drastically in the summer.
Located Northeast of the Greater Toronto Area and directly north of Lindsay, Ontario, Fenelon Falls was originally named Cameron's Falls and was incorporated as a town in 1874.
Lock 34 in the Trent-Severn Waterway is located in the centre of Fenelon Falls and connects Cameron Lake to Sturgeon Lake with a lift of 7.2 metres or 24 feet. The lock is on the north side of a small island. The south side of the island is where a hydro-electric dam and the actual waterfalls are located.

Trent Severn waterfall beside Lock13
Around the corner from the base of Lock 13 is a great little spot to paddle to see mallard ducks and cormorants. These little waterfalls were a bonus.
