TRAVELING MOROCCO [HD] // Amazing road trip through a beautiful part of Northern Africa!
... incl. Marrakesh, Ait Bouguemez, Cascades d'Ouzoud, Skoura Oasis, Draa Valley, Zagora, Erg Chegaga, Ait-Ben-Haddou, Taroudannt and Essaouira.
Morocco is a diverse gateway to Africa with epic mountain ranges, ancient cities, sweeping deserts, palm-fringed oases, good surfing conditions along the coast and warm hospitality. It’s easy to get around on public transport; nevertheless, in 2017 I decided to rent a car to be more flexible and to drive through the desert by myself. Enjoy! [chris]

Best way to Experience the Sahara Desert | Camping in Merzouga, Morocco
The final Morocco vlog is here! Camping in the Sahara Desert at a spot called Merzouga.
Here we rode camels to our remote campsite, spent the night eating Moroccan food and listening to music played by the locals.
In the morning we made our way back to our new campsite by camel ride before jumping into some Jeeps to go on Safari.
To end it all a big long 13 hour bus ride to Marrakesh so we can finally show you what staying in a Riad is like.
Next stop: Flying home to surprise Jess's brother for Christmas!

Morocco, December ep. 2: Atlas mountain day trip and camel ride โมร็อกโก, เทือกเขาเอทลาส
Morocco in December, the low season. On this third day of our stay we take a guided day trip to Atlas mountains and back to Marrakesh. Just outside the city we are served some excellent mint tea and are taken on a half hour camel ride in very scenic surroundings with the Atlas mountain range as backdrop. We continue east and stop in Tahanaout, where we learn about the unique Moroccan Argan oil, how it's used for food and cosmetics, and we also get to taste the oil with bread and mint tea. Further east we pass the stretch of road where the famous Atlas motorcycle stunts in Rogue Nation (Mission Impossible) were filmed. Once in the tour guides home town Imlil, we get to visit his family and are served some awesome Tajine, the best we had on the one week stay in Morocco, and again, lovely mint tea. After a short hike down the valley and through the streets of this Berber village, we drive back through Agafay desert camp. It's been a very a windy day, and now it starts raining as well, rounding the trip off in a surprising and fun way for all.
Video and pictures were captured with a Panasonic Lumix FZ1000 and a Sony a6000, and edited in Pinnacle Studio.

Morocco best of: Marrakesh, Ait ben haddou, Merzouga, Essaouira, Chefchaouen...
Morocco is a great and easy country to travel. I was already the second time in Morocco. The first time in 2014 I was only in Marrakesh and Merzouga. The trip to the desert was great, but we've one complete day in the bus to get there and one complete day back. Too much for a short trip :)
2017 I had more time to travel. First stop was Marrakesh. It's a nice city, but it's full of tourists and guides. I didn't like it very much and I left very fast.
Next stop was Imlil. I left most of my luggage in a guest house and climbed Mount Toubkal. You don't need a guide for this hike. Although everybody in the village recommends a guide ;-)
You can buy water all the hill up. On the peak you can rent a bed or room. In peak season better make a reservation. I slept in my tent. During the night it was really cold. Be prepared :D Most of the people wake up very early and go to the peak to watch the sunrise.
To get from Imlil to Aït-Ben-Haddou I had to take several different taxis and buses and hitchhike some parts. There's is a Kasbah in Aït-Ben-Haddou. Very nice place. Films like Gladiator or Game of Thrones were filmed here.
Tinghir, a city near Todgha gorges, you can reach easy by taxi. You have just to wait until it's full. Don't stay in Tinghir, better go up close to the gorges. I stayed in Dar Aicha. I can recommend it. On the way I met Andrea and we explored the gorge together.
After the gorge I took the night bus to Agadir. Agadir has some nice beaches, very good for tourists. But there's not much to see. I left after one day :D
I stayed for five days in Moknari. It's a berber village, where only one big family lives. There are thousands of surf camps along the coast. I decided for this one, because you will get a special experience in this village. It's very family. We played footbal together with Hichams cousins and did some other activities like sand boarding or visited paradise valley.
After all the activities I relaxed in Essaouira where I met Andrea again. This city was my favourite city. It's a small city, very relaxing. You can find many places just to sit down and chill. Or you can go to the beach or the harbour and watch the fisher men.
Unfortunatelly all tickets for the night buses were sold. So I had to drive the whole day in a bus and a train to get to Fes. Fes has very narrow streets and you don't have many possibilities to sit down somewhere. My suggestion is not to stay longer than one day there :D
My last station was Chefchaouen. It's a must go place. The city is also called The Blue Pearl. Take a look at the pictures and you will know why :D For sun set don't miss to go on the hill nearby. For a good place you should come early. It got very full :D
If you have further questions, don't hesitate to ask in the comments :)

Travel to Aït Benhaddou, Morocco. Aït Benhaddou is a ‘fortified city’ situated along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech, used to carry salt across the Sahara Desert and bring back gold, ivory and slaves. It is situated on a hill along the Ouarzazate River and boasts some beautiful examples of kasbahs, some of which remain inhabited.
Aït Benhaddou was Granted UNESCO World Heritage listing in 1987, the site had been the setting for many films including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, The Last Temptation of Christ, The Mummy and Alexander. The views of the High Atlas are stunning and it is easy to see why this city has been as popular as a film set over the years, dramatic and picturesque.

Morocco tour with Busabout
Morocco tour with Busabout
We did Busabout’s 9-day Morocco adventure tour in December over the Christmas period in 2019. Here’s a video that summarises our experience on the tour.
On the tour we visited Marrakech, Casablanca, Rabat, Meknes, Volubilis, Fes, the Sahara Desert, Todra Gorge, Ouarzazate, Ait Benhaddou, and finished back in Marrakech.
We spent Christmas in the Sahara Desert which was the biggest highlight – riding camels and enjoying traditional food and dancing by the fire, then sleeping underneath the stars was a truly unforgettable experience. Ait Benhaddou (and quad biking around it) and Fes were also among our top highlights of the tour.
If you’re considering doing a Morocco tour with Busabout, we highly recommend it! It was a small group of about 12 people, and the hotels were comfortable and nice. The tour cost about £750 per person, so it’s not exactly cheap, but for what you get it’s not a bad price, and you’ll see a lot more than if you were travelling Morocco by yourself with limited time.
If you have any questions about what it’s like to do Morocco with Busabout, drop them below and we’ll get right back at you!
