Places to see in ( Marple - UK )
Marple is a small town within the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport, in Greater Manchester, England. It lies on the River Goyt 9 miles southeast of Manchester, 9 miles north of Macclesfield and 4 miles southeast of Stockport.
Historically in Cheshire, the town lies along the Peak Forest Canal, containing the Marple Lock Flight and Marple Aqueduct. The Roman Lakes to the southeast of the town centre attracts anglers and walkers. Marple is served by two railway stations, Marple and Rose Hill, providing access to the rail network in Greater Manchester and beyond. It is also close by the Middlewood Way, a cycle path following the former Macclesfield, Bollington and Marple Railway line south from Rose Hill to Macclesfield.
In the early 1900s the town prospered from the success of cotton in nearby Stockport and Manchester; the canals in the area served as a link with other industrial towns. In 1936, Marple Urban District, at the time part of Cheshire, annexed from Derbyshire the parish of Ludworth and Mellor. Marple grew as a residential suburb of Stockport after the arrival of frequent bus and rail services in the 1920s.
The area, close to Derbyshire, covers just over 11 square miles (28 km2) of countryside, ranging from heavily wooded valleys to hill-top moorland. It rises from around 262 feet (80 m) above sea level at the River Goyt to 1,073 feet (327 m) at Cobden Edge. On a clear day it is possible to view the Beetham Tower in Manchester as well as the city centre, the Winter Hill TV transmitter and the surrounding counties of Cheshire, Derbyshire, Lancashire and West Yorkshire and the mountains of North Wales from the top of these hills.
Since 1932 Marple has had a cinema in a building designed in 1878 as a place of worship or refuge. The building was purchased in 1932 by the Marple Cinema Company and became the Regent Cinema. It remains open as one of the few independent cinemas in the UK. The town has two brass bands, the Marple Band and the Hawk Green (Marple) Band.
Marple is notable for its series of 16 canal locks, known as Marple Lock Flight, close to the village centre. The Peak Forest Canal skirts the village, north running alongside Marple Memorial Park and Brabyns Park until it reaches the Marple Aqueduct and on to Dukinfield Junction, and south towards Bugsworth Basin. Macclesfield Canal meets the Peak Forest Canal at Marple Junction, and heads towards Birmingham. The two canals form part of the Cheshire Ring canal system; the canals served as a vital link during the Industrial Revolution. Nowadays they provide an area of relaxation for walkers, anglers and boaters.
The Roman Lakes leisure complex is popular with walkers, anglers, nature lovers and horse riders. It is located in the valley bottom close to Strines. The area was named in the Victorian era as an attraction to tourists not because it had links with the Romans (also true of Roman Bridge, a packhorse bridge over the Goyt). In the area closest to the river there was a mill built by Samuel Oldknow; it is now ruined and overgrown.
Marple Hall is located close to where Marple Hall School now stands. The remains of the hall can be explored, though very little remains. The hall was the ancestral home of the Bradshaws and passed to the Isherwoods. The town lies along the A626, which runs between Glossop and Heaton Chapel. It has a junction in the centre of Marple with the B6101, which heads south to New Mills.
( Marple - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Marple . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Marple - UK

LONDON BRIDGE / COMMON GULL / BIRD WATCHING IN LONDON
#BirdWatchingUK#BirdsInLondon#NatureLover
The black-headed gull is a familiar sight on farmland, wetland and coastal habitats throughout Britain. It nests on salt marshes and islands in flooded gravel pits and reservoirs and sometimes forms very large, noisy colonies. There are about 140,000 breeding pairs in Britain and about 1.7 million wintering birds each year.
The commonest small gull, the black-headed gull actually has a chocolate-brown head during the summer which turns white for the rest of the year. It is silvery-grey above and white below with red legs, a red bill and black wingtips.
London is a green city - about 48 per cent of it is surfaced in vegetation, rivers and still waters. The city supports natural spaces and valuable habitats, as well as thousands of species, from algae and fungi, to mollusks and mammals - the incredible biodiversity of London.

Tower Bridge is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London, built between 1886 and 1894. The bridge crosses the River Thames close to the Tower of London and has become an iconic symbol of London. Because of this, Tower Bridge is sometimes confused with London Bridge, situated some 0.5 mi (0.80 km) upstream. Tower Bridge is one of five London bridges now owned and maintained by the Bridge House Estates, a charitable trust overseen by the City of London Corporation. It is the only one of the Trust's bridges not to connect the City of London directly to the Southwark bank, as its northern landfall is in Tower Hamlets.
The bridge is 800 feet (240 m) in length with two towers each 213 feet (65 m) high, built on piers. The central span of 200 feet (61 m) between the towers is split into two equal bascules or leaves, which can be raised to an angle of 86 degrees to allow river traffic to pass. The bascules, weighing over 1,000 tons each, are counterbalanced to minimise the force required and allow raising in five minutes.

The first single, “Show Me A Leader”, premieres via radio stations worldwide.
“Lyrically, it reflects the frustrations that a lot of people are feeling with the current state of the world,” admits Myles Kennedy about the new single. “The world is looking for trustworthy effective leadership and not this undignified dog and pony show that’s really made a mockery of our system.”
“It’s indicative of our process,” Mark Tremonti adds. “Myles had this guitar intro that I loved, and I had the chorus. We put them together. The words call out for a proper leader.”
The Last Hero's track listing runs as follows:
1) Show Me A Leader
2) The Writing On The Wall
3) The Other Side
4) My Champion
5) Poison In Your Veins
6) Cradle To The Grave
7) Losing Patience

6 Worst Things to Happen While Piloting a Plane
Worst things to happen while piloting a plane. These pilots went through rough times, when they tried to take back control of the aircraft. Here are the worst plane incidents.

Number 6 Flying through a Volcanic Ash Cloud
On June 24, 1982, British Airways Flight 9 from Heathrow to Auckland was flying over Jakarta, when the Boeing 747 lost power in all four of its engines. The crew didn’t initially understand why this had happened. Volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Galunggung had blocked the engines, causing them to flameout. The captain and crew tried restarting the engines but they were unresponsive. Captain Eric Moody made the following announcement to the passengers ‘Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem. All four engines have stopped.
Number 5 Pilot’s Prosthetic Arm Falls Off
On February 12, 2014, as a Flybe flight was approaching Belfast City Airport the pilot’s prosthetic arm fell off. According to the report, the pilot was manually controlling the plane to better deal with the windy weather. Shortly before landing, his artificial lower left arm became detached from its yoke. There wasn’t enough time for him to get the co-pilot and there were also challenging weather conditions to deal with. The pilot moved his right hand from the power levers to the yoke in order to regain control.
Number 4 Multiple Failures on a Superjumbo
Dealing with multiple failures on an aircraft is no easy feat. However, when said aircraft is the Airbus A380, the largest passenger plane in the world, the stakes are definitely higher. On November 4, 2010, Qantas Flight 32 suffered an uncontained engine failure around 4 minutes after it took off from Singapore’s Changi Airport. The Airbus’ engine No. 2 exploded, sending pieces of metal at the Indonesian village below.
Number 3 Running Out of Fuel
Due to a combination of company failures, human errors and confusion over unit measurements, Air Canada Flight 143 took off from Montreal on July 23, 1983, with insufficient fuel. This went unnoticed as the initial fuel load had been incorrectly introduced by the ground crew and subsequently approved by the flight crew. The fuel had been calculated in pounds, but it should have been calculated in kilograms. The plane was loaded with only half the fuel it needed. As it was cruising over Red Lake, Ontario, at approximately 41,000 feet the 767 lost all power and most of the flight control instruments went blank. Flying a plane that had lost all its engines hadn’t been covered in training so the pilot and crew were confronted with a new and frightening situation. Fortunately, Captain Robert Pearson was an experienced glider pilot and accustomed to techniques not normally used on commercial flights. The pilots re-routed the plane to RCAF Station Gimli, a former air force base. What they didn’t know was that the base had been converted to a race track complex.
Number 2 Forced Water Landing
Even with several safety measures put in place, landing on water is extremely dangerous and can have catastrophic consequences. This is why the efforts of leading pilot Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger and co-pilot Jeffrey B. Skiles have been hailed as the leading force behind what’s known as the ‘Miracle on the Hudson’. It has been described as the most successful water landing, or ditching, in history. It took place on January 15, 2009. Shortly after it took off from New York’s LaGuardia Airport, US Airways Flight 1549 hit a flock of Canadian geese. This resulted in the plane completely losing engine power. The pilots issued a mayday call and established contact with air traffic controllers from nearby airports.
Number 1 Getting Propelled out of the Plane
Dangling outside a plane in midair at a speed of nearly 500 mph and sub-zero temperatures has to rank at the top of worst things that can happen to a pilot. On June 10, 1990, British Airways Flight 5390 was heading to Spain, from Birmingham, with 81 passengers on board. About 20 minutes into the flight with the plane already at an altitude of around 17,000 feet, passengers were startled by a loud bang that came from the cockpit. An improperly installed windscreen panel had broken away from the captain’s side of the flight deck. The rushing air from the decompression forced Captain Tim Lancaster out of his seat and propelled him head-first out of the window.
