China hold ceremonies this week to mark the 78th anniversary of the beginning of China’s eight-year War of Resistance Against Japan, in 1937. On July 7 that year, Japanese troops marched across Lugou Bridge, and into Beijing. The attack on the crossing, which is also known as Marco Polo Bridge, is seen by historians as signalling the beginning of Japan’s full-scale invasion of China. Some of the Chinese veterans can still recalled the critical moment of the battle. CCTV America’s Wu Guoxiu filed the report from Henan Province.

A celebration to commemorate the 76th anniversary
of the Lugouqiao Incident, or Marco Polo Bridge Incident, launched in China.
After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) took power
in China, they inverted history's truth.
Thus, KMT army veterans and their offspring, who have been
discriminated against over the years, call to restore the truth of war history.
Currently, the CCP Ministry of Civil Affairs give these
war veterans social security as compensation,
however they suffered so much over the past 60 years,
and now social security is only a small amount.
Analysts say it's far from enough!
July 7th, ROC President Ma Ying-jeou on his Facebook page,
stated that historical errors might be forgivable,
but the truth cannot be forgotten.
July 7th, 1937, the Japanese attack on Marco Polo Bridge
in Beijing started the war between China and Japan.
Due to the Kuomintang army's lack of proper equipment,
and insufficient strength, 3,220,000 soldiers were lost,
as well as 200 generals.
20 million people died.
This July 7th, Mainland China commemorates
the Marco Polo Bridge Incident.
Many Internet postings read, Do not forget history!
At 10am of the same day, Hebei province's 11 cities
and districts performed air raids and posted huge posters
recalling the scenes of the Japanese bombing of Shijiazhuang
in October 1937.
Chongqing artist Wang Kang created a one thousand meter
long scroll painting, the Noble Long Stream,
and held a press conference in Beijing on the 7th.
The scroll describes many of the Kuomintang generals
on the battlefield, and the bloody battles against the Japanese aggression.
At the meeting, many scholars and war veterans called
to restore original historical features.
Japanese War colonel offspring, Han Liang:
The Communists are sinful; they did not fight with Japanese,
they were hiding in Yan'an and the Taihang Mountains.
When the war was over, they picked the fruits of victory.
However, the CCP claimed that the KMT hijacked
the fruits of victory. They invert white and black.
The CCP also abused and beat to death one of the KMT's
war heroes, I saw this during the Cultural Revolution.
Han Liang pointed out that the Communist Party not only
abused and massacred KMT soldiers, but also oppress and humiliated their offspring.
Han Liang: I was born in 1949.
The Communist Party named us 'black five types.'
As a counter-revolutionary child, I couldn't go to school
and I can't find a job or even a friend.
Right now, I'm still living alone. Why is that?
It is this system, this society, this Communist Party,
it hates these KMT soldiers and their descendants.
Han Liang said he was nicknamed 'pseudo-officer's son,'
and he was abused and bullied very often.
During the Cultural Revolution, his father was jailed,
his mother was often singled out for public criticism,
and he was beaten and almost killed several times.
He said in recent years, the truth of the war has gradually
been exposed,
the Communist Party can hardly reverse black and white,
and told us, Kuomintang did not fight with Japan.
Before the anniversary of the Marco Polo Bridge Incident
this year, China's Ministry of Civil Affairs plan to give
social security to these Kuomintang veterans.
However, most veterans have passed away,
and the surviving veterans have reach 90 years of age.
Great War Network editor Guyuan Liang:
Many veterans were treated to many injustices after 1949.
Some experienced the 'three evils,' 'five evils,'
'Cultural Revolution' and so on.
Through all these critical movements,
it has been difficult for them to survive up until now.
For years, they expected and hoped to get a fair evaluation
of their contribution, which is also equal to vindication.
However, Guyuan Liang pointed out that the war veterans
waited 60 years and the authorities give them only the minimum.
It is not enough. They sacrifice for the country with
bloodshed, they deserve a fair evaluation.

The famed bridge built in 1189, where the Japanese first invaded China on July 6, 1937. And yes, the Japanese had sex slaves, not comfort women. They ought to apologize for the sake world harmony.
The river has since been diverted to meet the ever demanding water needs of Beijing......a small bustling hamlet of 23 million people.
Zhao Yiman’s courage exemplifies China’s resistance against the Japanese invasion.
Zhao Yiman was born into a rich family in southwest China's Sichuan Province and traveled to study at the Sun Yat-sen University in Moscow. In the winter of 1928, she returned to China and engaged in underground revolutionary work in Shanghai and Jiangxi Province. Zhao was sent to northeast China to carry forward the fight against Japanese aggression and lost her life after months of torture in 1935.

Many surviving veterans and their supporters

The painting is mainly about war heroes. It shows

Their fight against Japan's attacks
plays a decisive role in the victory.
But the Chinese Communist Party has been vilifying

HKJA Annual Report: Press Freedom Situation Is Terrible
Hong Kong Journalists Association (HKJA) published its
2013 Annual Report of Press Freedom on July 7.
The report says that the situation of press freedom
in Hong Kong was the worst over the past year.
In the report, during the first 11 months of
CY Leung's position as Chief Executive,
he used recorded images to take place of
press conferences 182 times,
which is 8 times more than the previous government.
Also, when government officials went to visit
grassroots level, more joint interviews took place,
prohibiting reporters from asking about urgent issues.
A report Cloud in City—HK Press Freedom
Faces New Threat indicates that
although CY Leung signed the Press Freedom Charter
before the chief executive election last year,
he hasn't fulfilled his promise of protecting press freedom.
Neither has he actively promoted the
Freedom of Information Act.
There were 18 violent attacks on HK reporters and media
groups in Hong Kong and mainland China last year.
CY Leung didn't respond to any of them.
The report indicated that CY Leung sent a lawyer's letter
responding to a commentary article on HK Economy Journal
early this year, which weakened HK press freedom.
It also shows that CY Leung can't tolerate critics.
The report warns that there's no sign to show that
Hong Kong government is going to launch the national
security legislation in Article 23 of the Basic Law.
The Chinese Communist Party has proposed for legislative
requirement many times. The news industry must remain alert.
The report says that CY Leung has an identity
of an underground Party member.
CY Leung and the government haven't
responded to HKJA's annual report.
Villagers Block Roads in Hainan,
Police Use Tear Gas to Suppress
On July 3 villagers in Gaolan village of Zhanzhou City,
Hainan Province blocked roads to protest against a neighboring village stealing sand.
The local police station dispatched many armed police
and riot police to forcibly disperse villagers.
The two sides had conflicts. Police used tear gas on villagers.
Many elderly and infirm were injured and sent to hospital.
Molihua.org, a Chinese pro-democracy protests website,
reported that Gaolan village is rich in sand.
The neighboring Hanzhai village often steals sand
from Gaolan village for its private sand company,
which led to land loss and river bank collapse.
Gaolan villagers asked for 100.000 RMB of compensation,
but were refused.
Thus the villagers blocked the roads
and stopped sand transport trucks from passing.
The Sand company manager sought help from the police station,
which led to bloody conflicts.

Jingwu hero HD no watermark in Mandarin
After the death of Huo Jia, Chen Zhen took the only descendant of Master, Huo Dongjue, from the Shanghai to Beijing to take refuge. The name of Cheng Zhien was in the Fangjia as a handyman. I am committed to cultivating Huo Dongjue into a talented person with both civil and military skills to continue the Huojia style. At the beginning, I could live quietly without the wind, and I had a good relationship with Ms. Fang Jia and the former Qing Emperor of the Qing Dynasty. However, the Fangjia and the alliance yarn factory and the Hongkou Gang’s struggles gradually involved him. From the hooded help, to the real person, and then to Chen Zhen’s identity leaked by the police. Although Fang Shixiong pleaded guilty to death and wanted to awaken Chen Zhen against the Japanese, Chen Zhen was still immersed in the narrow ideal of reviving Jingwu.
It was not until Lu Da’an and Long’s commander saved his life by death. Master Long’s loyalty to the country’s pain by forgetting the pain of the loss of the child made Chen Zhen go to the road of resisting Japan. After Fang Shiwei turned to the Japanese, Chen Zhen helped Xu Jia and Fang Jia to confront the Japanese aggression against China until the Lugouqiao Incident. On the night before the Japanese army entered Beiping, Chen Zhen called for the original Jingwumen and Fang Family Ma, which will be headed by Sato. The Hongkou Dojo secret agent was completely eradicated, and Chen Zhen also paid his own life for this. Although the love of Fang Shixin did not come to an end, it maximized his noble personality.
