Summer at the Mac Johnson Wildlife Area (Brockville, ON - July 2015)
If you enjoy spending time with nature, Mac Johnson Wildlife Area, north of Brockville, has a lot to offer on a summer afternoon. You can see nature up close by going for a hike along its trail system, or view the flocks of geese that are often seen down by the pond. Despite its location just outside Brockville's city limits, it is often a quiet spot to view several different plant and animal species.
This video was shot in late July, 2015.
Spring at the Mac Johnson Wildlife Area (Brockville, ON - April 2017)
During my visit to the Mac Johnson Wildlife Area, north of Brockville, the spring foliage was already forming and an abundance of birds could be spotted. The bugs were also out in full force, which is unusual for late April. This was likely due to above seasonal temperatures.
Late Winter at the Mac Johnson Wildlife Area (Chipmunks, Swans, Forest Scenes - Brockville, ON)
While it was technically a few days into Spring in late March, it did not look or feel like it while visiting Mac Johnson Wildlife Area. Located just north of Brockville, Ontario, Mac Johnson Wildlife Area can be a great place to view wildlife even in the winter months. Chipmunks could be seen around the entrance to the forest, while swans could be seen on the frozen pond. The landscape is still mostly snow-covered, as a walk through the forest reveals.
This video was shot in late March, 2015.
Mac Johnson Wildlife Area: Canada Geese and Swans on the Back Pond in Fall
This video shows two bird species which are prominent at Mac Johnson Wildlife Area, north of Brockville, Ontario. Some swans were viewed on the afternoon this was shot. Canada geese were much more prominent though. While all of the early scenes were taken around the dock, the later shots were taken in the woods a short distance west of there. While the body of water is referred to as the Back Pond in the title of the video, it is also known as the Buells Creek Reservoir. It is most commonly referred to as the Back Pond by locals.
This video was shot in late October, 2014.
Mac Johnson Wildlife Area: Late Fall Scenes in the Woods and Near The Pond
While it was late in the fall when I visited Mac Johnson Wildlife Area just north of Brockville, Ontario, I was still able to see some fall colours. Whether it was one of the main walking trails through the woods, just outside the woods or near the pond, the scenery was excellent. This video was shot in late October, 2014.
One of Mac Johnson Wildlife Area's Resident Squirrels
The squirrel in this video was not camera shy by any means. This video was shot a short distance north of Brockville, Ontario at Mac Johnson Wildlife Area. While it is a great place to view all kinds of wildlife, squirrels tend to be plentiful there. This one had to be the least camera shy of all of the squirrels I've seen at this conservation area, though.
This video was shot in late October, 2014.
