In Berlin we have put a special emphasis on history and culture. After researching and getting opinions of tourists and the people of Berlin, it became clear to us how important this emphasis on history and culture was for the Germans. That's why in Berlin the history and culture part of the exhibition is at the beginning of the tour in contrast to other Madame Tussauds for example in Hollywood or Los Angeles, where such areas are much smaller or are usually at the end of the tour.

CELEBRITY WAXING IN BERLIN
A waxwork model of Adolf Hitler was revealed in Berlin Thursday (03JULY08).
The model of the Nazi leader was one of dozens unveiled at the opening of the latest branch of British wax museum Madame Tussauds.
Critics have argued including him violated the country's strict laws against reproducing Nazi symbols. But defenders argue his role in German history could not be ignored.
Spokeswoman Nathalie Ruoss said the Berlin branch concentrates more on historical figures than celebrity, but there was no shortage of waxed a listers at the opening.
Hollywood greats including Romy Schneider and Marlene Dietrich rub shoulders with Brangelina and george Clooney.
Touching and photographing are allowed, except for Hitler.
The museum, located on the busy Unter den Linden boulevard and near the capital's iconic Brandenburg Gate, opens to the public on Saturday.

That we connect the story and explain this story, although this was planned from our side anyway, that's why we didn't have to change our concept and can exhibit it the way it is now.

STORYLINE
Adolf Hitler is back in Berlin, now as a benign wax figure shown in his bunker in the final days of World War II.
The Nazi leader, hunched over a desk in a dimly lit bunker just before he committed suicide at the end of World War II, is one of dozens unveiled on Thursday at the opening of the latest branch of the British wax museum, Madame Tussauds.
The waxworks are showcased in a chronological and thematic order that highlights Europe's post-war history.
After researching and getting opinions of tourists and the people of Berlin, it became clear to us how important this emphasis on history and culture was for the Germans, museum spokeswoman Nathalie Ruoss said.
The reviled dictator sits beneath a map of Europe on the wall, monitoring the advance of allied troops from the east and west.
In front of a reproduction of the Berlin wall, United States President John F. Kennedy stands next to a video looping his famous I am a Berliner speech with German political bigwigs like Willy Brandt and former East German leader Erich Hoenecker.

Just down the road from the Brandenburg Gate, Berlin’s version of this wax menagerie of notable people gained world wide attention due to the inclusion of a controversial figure: Adolf Hitler. At the 2008 public opening, a guest leapt into the display and ripped the mannequin’s head off. The figure has since been restored and placed behind glass, offering a glimpse of the final days of one of history’s most notorious individuals.
Among those on view are German politicians through the ages, a few American presidents, Albert Einstein and Sigmund Freud, and musical legends from Ludwig van Beethoven to Tokio Hotel. Interactive sports games surround tennis, football and boxing greats, and a television studio set awaits with a simulated quiz show.
In a ‘behind the scenes’ area, guests learn about the real Madame Tussaud, who sculpted victims of the French Revolution. And in the exhibition’s final room, a host of celebrities from around the world like Nicole Kidman and Brad Pitt wait ready for snapshots. Visitors can also have their photo taken and printed Andy Warhol pop art style in four-color panels.
