Wiscasset ~ the prettiest village in Maine
Wiscasset has been dubbed the prettiest village in Maine. Several other places in the state might also claim this title, but Wiscasset is an undeniably attractive and pleasant place, marred only by the traffic that rumbles by on its Main Street, aka U.S. Route 1.
Here we see the heart of downtown, including several local institutions: the Taste of Maine bakery, Red's Eats (a tiny shack famous for its lobster rolls), and Sarah's Cafe. We then drive eastward out of town, over the Sheepscot River and toward the Boothbay Peninsula.
Heritage Village Grand Opening May 2009
Local vendors with lots to sell make up the majority of the numerous shed stores located at the Heritage Village in Wiscasset, Maine. Shop for awhile and then take in a tasty lobstah treat at the Lobster Shack, all located directly off from RT.#1, Wiscasset, Maine :)

If you like this video....Please click like, share it and comment.
By you doing this helps get this video into higher google ratings and helps promote Rumford more.... Thank you.
My name is Stewart Smith. I am a former resident of Rumford, Maine.... I can honestly say I wouldn't trade my youth for anything.... It was the perfect place to grow up.... I was raised by this town...... I had so many people help teach me things..... Sports, Art, Photography and just being a good person..... Being from a small town has kept me humble....I also appreciate things...Nothing came easy for me or my family.....
As I have grown older.....I have come to see why so many people live in Rumford.... It's so beautiful and peaceful.... I am hoping that the town will start to develop plans into using their beautiful surroundings and start taking the mill out of the equation....
It's unfortunate that the mill will eventually shut down....Which will cripple many families forcing them to move or get work elsewhere....
I am hoping my videos and photography can and will shed light on a town that has huge potential !!
I feel if the right people came together and were to think outside of the box....This town could make a strong comeback and actually be better than ever!!
It's all right there......
Skiing, snowboarding, biking, hiking, fishing, hunting, sledding, jogging, farming, swimming ect.........
If you like the outdoors....Rumford, Maine could be a great destination for you and your family!!
I have watched Rangeley and Bethel, Maine develop into quite a nice little community by using their natural resources.
Rumford needs to follow their lead!!
Hotels or cabins need to be built up in the beautiful Black Mountain area..... That is just a start.
Here are a few links to visit if you would like more information or planning a trip to Rumford.

A Parade of Power at the Nevada State Railroad Museum - July 4th, 2016
During yet another excellent Fourth of July at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, three Beautifully restored vintage steam engines and a McKeen Motorcar were operational. Carson & Tahoe Lumber and Fluming Co. #1 The Glenbrook was under steam and shuttling back and forth between the Annex and the Wabuska Depot, coupled to an 1882 Carson & Colorado Railway flatcar, which in the coming months will be used as a trailer for giving rides behind the locomotive. This weekend was an excellent display for the Nevada State Railroad Museum, it is well worth a visit.
