At Tikipunga High School no one gets left out.
The families of students at this Whangarei school are often struggling financially, leading to tough decisions on what essential items to prioritise.
Thankfully the school has found a way to bring the community together using the KidsCan Food Programme to provide a full tummy for those in need.
Sadly, there are many other students at schools just like Tikipunga who need your help.
---
For Kiwi kids, having their basic needs met, like a full tummy, means the best chance at a good education and a bright future. KidsCan provides food, clothing and health items to NZ children in need so they can get into the classroom in a position to learn and reach their full potential in life. Learn more:

Dave Veart at The Rose Centre on Archaeology of Māori Settlement of Devonport Peninsula
Local historian and all-round personality Dave Veart presented a historical and archaeological review of Māori settlement of the Devonport Peninsula at The Rose Centre, Tuesday July 3, 2018. The area was one of the first places to be settled by the East Polynesian colonists, evidenced by stone tools found in the area. The moa ovens found at Torpedo Bay also indicate early settlement. Dave will look at why it was such an early settlement and touch on the later history. Entry was free and The Rose Centre was packed to the gills.
This event was part of Matariki Festival, 30 June - 22 July, proudly hosted by Auckland Council in partnership with Te Kawerau a Maki. More info and updates on matariki.org.nz and Facebook. #matarikifestival
