This beach is found to the south eastern side of the island next to the popular Mayaro beach. Manzanilla itself is actually a very long stretch on the eastern side of the island running from south east to the north east (vertically) where there is a signature stretch of coconut trees!

Manzanilla Sea Wall Rehabilitation Project
The newly constructed Manzanilla Sea Wall was conceptualized and designed by members of the Ministry's Coastal Protection Unit (CPU).
The foundation of the original sea wall was undermined as a result of erosion and deterioration; thus needed urgent replacement.
Because of the extensive erosion, the facility was closed in October 2014 as it became a safety hazard for beach users.
Thanks to the CPU's remedial work, the Manzanilla Beach Facility is now safe, sustainable and aesthetically pleasing to the Manzanilla community and to Trinidad and Tobago at large.

Was filming a religious event yesterday at the Manzanilla Beach in Trinidad's North East Coast. I decided to take a slight detour in the air to capture the coast. This is the raw unedited footage with no music. Taken with the Traxxas Aton on the 2-axis Gimbal and Gitup Git 2 Action camera.

Trinidad and Tobago : Nariva Manzanilla 2019
Description: The Nariva Swamp is the largest freshwater wetland in Trinidad and Tobago and has been designated a Wetland of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention. The swamp is located on the east coast of Trinidad, immediately inland from the Manzanilla Bay through Biche and covers over 60 square kilometres (23 mi2). The Nariva Swamp is extremely biodiverse. It is home to 45 mammal species, 39 reptile species, 33 fish species, 204 bird species, 19 frog species, 213 insect species and 15 mollusc species. All this contained in just 60 square kilometers

It wouldn't be a true Easter vacation without a beach run and better yet a manzan beach run on a Friday? Definition of Caribbean living! Feels so good to be back home in the hot sun of my country enjoying the beauty that is home. Hope you have fun seeing your/my homeland from a different angle as much as I did.
