Read more Information about our Ukraine River Cruise:
Welcome to Ukraine, one of Europe's last hidden treasures. Long in the shadow of the Soviet Empire, this lovely country, rich in history, culture and natural beauty, regained its independence in 1991 and opened its doors to the world. From gorgeous Odessa, the gateway to the Black Sea, to Yalta and its world-class beaches, to Zaporozhye, the home of the fearless Cossack warriors, and to cosmopolitan Kiev, with its wide, tree-lined boulevards and a thousand-year-old history, Ukraine is a true treasure chest of natural and man-made attractions waiting to be explored. We are pleased to introduce to you this new and exciting travel destination in the hopes that we may one day share in the pleasure of your company as you discover Ukraine with us.
One of the best ways to explore this diverse country is by cruising the magnificent Dnieper River. At 1,420 miles in length, it is the third longest river in Europe, after the Volga and the Danube. The benefits of a river cruise are many. No packing and unpacking, as our floating hotel will take you from one exciting destination to the next. All your meals are included, as are most of your shore excursions. Our on-board staff of guides, cruise directors, and talented entertainers will delight you with their lectures, music, and hospitality. Sit back and enjoy an unforgettable journey from Odessa to Kiev, and all of the unique Ukrainian stops in between.
As either a starting or ending point for our cruises, Odessa is sure to delight you. A mild climate and a youthful, vibrant population have drawn the rich and the famous to this Black Sea port for centuries. Its most famous citizen, the French Duke De Richelieu, transformed the city into a thriving center of commerce and culture. Its Opera House, and the Potemkin Stairs, are world-renowned, while its tree-lined promenades and classical buildings painted in pastel hues invoke another era. Life on board our floating hotel will be as exciting as the ports you will be visiting.
Our first stop, Sevastopol, is home to the Russian Navy's feared Black Sea Fleet. Closed to foreign visitors until the early 1990s, Sevastopol today is a city of clean and orderly boulevards, neo-classical Russian buildings, and the unique Panorama Museum. As our ship sails from Sevastopol to Yalta, the optional bus excursion across the Crimean peninsula will take you to see the unique cliff-side fortress of Swallow's Nest. The historic Livadia Palace, the location where Roosevelt, Stalin, and Churchill decided the fate of post-war Europe, will be equally impressive. Stunningly situated between the Crimean mountains and the Black Sea, Yalta has been a major destination for poets, politicians, artists, writers, and the Russian Czar's family. Kherson is the gateway to the Dnieper delta. Here, you will board smaller boats that will take you to an authentic Ukrainian fishing village. A local family will host an al fresco lunch, accompanied with some improvised entertainment.
Zaporozhye, a name that conjures up images of fierce, pony-tailed warriors, is also the home of the first independence movements of Ukraine. Here you will enjoy a tour of the city, and a visit to the unique Zaporozhye Cossack museum. The optional Cossack show will feature their horsemanship, weapon skills, and music. Home to Ukraine's favorite son, Taras Shevchenko, Kanev is both his birthplace and burial ground. After a tour of his museum, you will enjoy a special shashlik barbecue. There will be wine, entertainment, and a selection of songs performed by our enthusiastic flower girls.
Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, is also recognized as the birthplace of Kievan Rus, or Russia. It came to be in 988, when Prince Vladmir the Great baptized the whole country and introduced Christianity to this part of the world. Today, it's a city of wide boulevards, giant chestnut trees, and a smiling and youthful population. The people are friendly, the city is beautiful. We hope you have enjoyed our short intro to Ukraine. we also hope we will have the pleasure of your company in the nearest future, as we sail along the beautiful Black Sea and the romantic Dnieper River.

Walking Along The Black Sea in Sevastopol, Ukraine
Don't hesitate to join the crowds walking around Sevastopol's waterfront and streets. There are museums, stores, important historical monuments, restaurants, parks and beautiful women! Even I joined Steve to gawk at these tall, slender, beautiful, long-legged blondes and brunettes; so gorgeous!
Along the waterfront is a mini-amusement park with rides, souvenir stalls, stands selling food (Hot dogs, ice cream), and carnival attractions. I almost bought one of the maritime hats being sold throughout Sevastopol as a souvenir like the one driver Yuri wore but then thought better of it. A fun break before the ship sailed for Yalta; a destination visited by millions of Ukrainians and Russians during the summer.
Inside Ukraine's lavish 'Museum of Corruption'
(7 Jul 2018) LEADIN
The lavish lifestyle and corruption of Ukraine's former president has become an unlikely tourist attraction near Kiev.
Viktor Yanukovych's former palatial home, complete with chandeliers, a private zoo and manicured gardens, has been seized by the public and has now become something akin to a 'museum of corruption'.
STORYLINE
Surrounded by acres of woodland and built on a former nature reserve, this is the impressive estate known as Mezhyhirya.
The palatial house was once home to the former president Viktor Yanukovych and was designed to resemble an oversized hunting lodge.
A lake, private fountain and manicured gardens add to the sense of grandeur.
Inside is just as luxurious - visitors marvel at a gold-plated chandelier, expensive furniture, rare blue marble stairs and a white Steinway piano.
Thousands of tourists have visited his estate since Yanukovych fled Ukraine to Russia in February 2014. Then, protestors entered his residence, which was eventually seized by the state.
Prime Morfey is visiting from Ireland and says he's astonished by the display of wealth.
I think it's amazing but I'm saddened to see how much money was spent given the poverty that existed in Ukraine. But it's a phenomenal building. But very sad at the same time.
Yanukovych moved into the estate when he became Prime Minister in 2002. He was later elected President in 2010 and served until he was ousted in 2014.
One visitor from Israel, Alex Ayvirov adds: Yanukovych differs from the others as he stole everything. While other oligarchs produced something or had a corporation, he was a politician who simply stole money, took away businesses, but I don't know for sure. Frankly speaking the house it is pretty tawdry, very palatial. The normal person would never live here.
Now the residence is one of the most popular places to spend the weekend for Ukrainians and also a must see destination for foreign tourists
Petro Oliynyk was among the first to get inside Yanukovych's home in 2014 and saw how the former president lived.
Four years on Petro now works a guide.
He says after Yanukovych left Ukraine, thousands pages of documents were found, including accounting papers.
According to their (Mezhyhirya owners) accounting, more than 2 billion US dollars are invested in the property. The papers said it cost around 100 US dollars to keep it daily, 4 million US dollars were spent to keep Mezhyhirya. At least 500 families in Ukraine live in such properties, it helps to understand the reasons (of poverty) better, he says.
In 2017, Mezhyhirya was returned to state ownership by a court order.
Governor of Mezhyhirya Residence, Denys Tarakhkotelyk says it is now in public hands and a reminder of the excesses of corrupt officials.
Mezhyhirya is national park today. This is how people call it, it doesn't have such judicial status. But 100 percent of people who visit it, officials and lawmakers of Verkhovna Rada (parliament), foreign tourists all of them agree that it has to be a national park and Honka (main house) is the museum
of corruption.
The sprawling estate is also home to a private zoo and farm.
But when the former president and his staff left, the animals faced a difficult situation.
When he heard about the situation, biologist Serhiy Grygoriev decided to go and help the animals.
Since then he's been keeping, feeding and caring for the animals every day.
The zoo is now one of the estate's many attractions, along with the gardens and fountains.

I do not know how in the West, Russians believe the concept of Nazism and fascism as synonyms. When we say Kiev Nazis or fascists from Western Ukraine, we mean the same thing.
Namely, people who are obsessed with Hitler about the superiority of one race or nation over others.
In Western Ukrainian fascists (Nazis) has its heroes. This is Bandera, Shukhevych who were servants of Hitler in World War II.
So..There is a war between the Russians, the local population that lives here 1000 years and the Nazi government in Kiev, which the United States led to power.
As a result of the bloody coup, the Nazis from Western Ukraine came to power.
They are a minority, and in the case of democratic elections, they would never have come to power. Then the United States made a bloody coup, as they are able to do it all over the world.
Thus, the United States went to war against the Russian population of the South and East of Ukraine, who lived here 1,000 years and no where to go will not, of course.
I'd like to work for the Russian government, but do not work.
And actually just want to help as best I can. To bring the truth to the world. Free of charge and at the expense of their own time.
I do not know about a help from Russia. Maybe it goes. Also, do not know, maybe go help with the West for Kiev.
What else?
Russian Donbas really fighting against fascism! The Nazis came to power in Kiev seriously consider themselves a superior race. It's funny to hear for non-Ukrainians. But it is. Ukrainians in fact it is Russians. Western historians only in the 20th century had called their - Ukrainians .
Ukrainians do not fight against the Donbas, almost. Basically, fighting Nazis from western Ukraine.
And he led the Ukrain. Nazis to power.
Putin does not want the new lands, otherwise would have long ago captured the whole of the Ukraine, easy!
The Kiev Nazis commit genocide!
Ask if something is unclear, I will answer.

Believers in Donetsk performed the traditional triple-plunge to mark the Orthodox celebration of Epiphany on Monday morning, despite the possibility that the whole celebration would be moved to another date or even cancelled amid safety and security concerns due to the heavy bombardment of the city.

Do czasu rozpadu ZSRR zakład specjalizował
się w naprawie silników i optyki czołgów, przeprowadzając około 60 kapitalnych napraw
w miesiącu. |

Kharkiv is the second largest city of Ukraine. It is also one of the largest industrial centers. At a time when Ukraine was a Soviet republic, there were some of the biggest defense production, air (Antonov plants) or chemical. In the area of Kharkov there are still places that remind us of the power of the city. One of them is the graveyard of tanks in the Department of Heavy Industry Remontowe. There lie the wrecks of famous Soviet equipment, such as T-64, T-80 and T-72. Until the collapse of the USSR facility specializing in the repair of engines and optics tanks, carrying about 60 capitalize repairs a month. |

K-19 Nuclear Soviet Submarine Veteran Tells The Truth!
They called us *The Dead Men*
I came across one of the last surviving Veteran's of nuclear Soviet Submarine K-19. He explained to me what happened on one of the most, historically meaningful Submarines of Soviet Union.
After hearing his story... I had no choice but to Investigate.
So, the reason why i decided to go to the History Museum of Russian Submarine forces in Saint Petersburg, is because everyone who's working in there is in fact a USSR submarine veteran. They're able to answer any questions... with a cherry on top!
I went through everything related to the History of Soviet Submarines in Saint Petersburg, including all the museums (that I was able to access) and a trip to Kronstadt.
ALSO... in the opening ceremony of Russian Navy Day, the President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin specifically mentioned, thanked and embraced the crew members of K-19 for saving the world from a Nuclear war... three separate times!
(Song during interview) Rahkoi - Skyfire
